I used to believe…
When I was 5 or 6, our 12 year old neighbor made a big show of always spitting on the ground like a pro baseball player. For months I was terrified my saliva was something unnatural and horrible. I was scared I was the only person who was too stupid to spit it out before it killed me.
I used to believe that there was a loud speaker just above my stomach (inside) that when I was thinking to myself it was announcing it to all the "little creatures" inside of me working. I thought that these "little creatures" were the ones who kept running around making things work.

When i was about 6 or 7, when i had a book with pictures of people in it i would draw on their faces like spots and scars etc with a red or any other colour pen, i believed that these markings would appear on their face wherever they were in the world. I have no idea why i ever thought this.

When we were young we lived near the airport in the landing path for the planes. My granfather told us not to look up with our mouth open because someone might flush the toilet and it would get in our mouth.

My younger cousin (shes 6) thinks that throwing up is pooping and pooping is throwing up. She's not the brightest crayon in the box.
i used to believe that people can fly so i tried jumping off my bed trying to fly when i was around 3-4
I convinced my younger sister that I was bionic. After school, I would run around the building and tell her I had just come from China and then pretend to speak Chinese. At night I would say "Did you hear that?" After she would say no I would say "Oh yeah I forgot, you're not bionic." I suppose that wasn't very nice of me.

Up until 1st grade, I used to think that when you pooped a baby would come out, and so I would look into the toilet and apologize to the baby and coo over it that it had to die so soon.
I used to believe…
When I was little, I believed I could only eat soup while humming. Ever time I sipped my soup, I'd go "mmmmm" to make sure it worked. Then, one day, I realised I didn't need to do this, and I just stopped.

When i was little i used to think that when people went to the bathroom to use the toilet, they got butt-naked because they were always still getting dressed when they came out...fixing a shirt etc. So I would do the same and my mommy always knew when i had been to the bathroom because all my clothes would be in back to front and my shoes on the wrong feet.

When I was in 3rd grade I went to catholic school and we wore lovely plaid jumper uniforms. I had to wear it one evening for a Christmas program, so I thought I'd just wear it to bed so I didn't have to get dressed for school the next day. My mother told me that if I did it I would get sick, but I did it. I woke up the next morning with the mumps! I still have a hard time wearing any kind of street clothes to bed...thanks mom.

I used to think I was Wonder Woman! Don't I wish it was so now!

My dad used to bend his elbow, put his thum in his mouth and pretend to blow "into" it. At the same time, he'd flex his bicep muscle. I thought he was actually using his breath to inflate his muscle!

When I was little I thought that if you farted the smell would stay by your butt. So whenever I did I'd try to make sure to stay away from people, and under NO circumstances turn my back to anyone close by.
I used to believe…
When I was little I thought that people could read my mind. to test this idea. I would think bad thoughts of them and see if they were angry.
I also believed that if I cleared my mind, that any thought wandering into my head was someone elses, and I would then ask everyone around me what they were thinking.
I used to believe…
When I was little I thought that pee was yellow because people drank lemonaid, and boo was brown because people ate chocolate. Whenever I hadn't had chocolate or lemonaid for a while, I figured I ate and drank enough earlier in life to last me for a while.
I believed that a giant cartoon-like skunk tail, black with stripe, would pop out your butt when you farted, and go back in before you could see it, which explained the "pop" feeling that comes with a fart.

Oh gods, where to start?
Weeelll, when I was small I thought that by singing, I could make the wind blow. Oddly enough, the wind DID have a tendency to pick up when I sang. o_O
Also, I used to believe I controlled streetlights in the evening because we had a tendency to go out just as they flicked on, so we would go down the road and I would watch the lights go on one by one as we went by.
I also thought I controlled stop lights, and could make them be green. (I believed I had no control over making them yellow or red, but could make them green. Another girl younger then me *in my mind* ran the yellow, and a little boy controlled the red)
Wow. I was a strange little child.
