I used to think that every time I would hold my breath brain cells in my head would burst. The image I had was of a boiling mass of tomato sauce with all these bubbles on top going *pop* *pop*.
I refused to swim, because that meant my cells in my brain would be popping when I went under.
i was told in first grade that when you farted green gass or bubbles come out....so for months i tried to catch a peek when i farted....but i always missed. it came out before i got a look. i still haven't seen what a fart looks like, but adult reasoning tells me that there would be a green coloring to my underwear if this were so.

My little brother who is 14 has never had the chicken pox...but he's convinced that he has. My mother and I know better, but I don't think we're ever going to convince him of the truth.

When I was little, I would sometimes want to take food into the bathroom or I would still be chewing my food when I went to the bathroom. My mom always said not to take food into the bathroom because if I did I was feeding the devil. It wasn't until I was in my early 20's until I could allow myself to chew food while in the bathroom.

After Mom went to the doctor's office, we stopped at the grocery store to pick up some prescriptions and a herbal supplement. I couldn't remember exactly what it was, but thought I had the word.
Mom started cracking up when I asked her if we were going to get the "euthanasia". (echinacea)

When I was very young, my greatest ambition was to be able to fly. I watched a children's show on PBS called "Zoom," in which every episode concluded with a closing song containing the lines "Come along and give it a try... We're gonna teach you to fly!" And I would get so impatient for them to show the episode in which they would show us how this was done. (Of course, they were speaking metaphorically, darnitall...)

My aunt told my cousin when he had an ear infection that there was wax in his ear. He thought she'd said there were "wacks" in his ear, so when he had a less severe infection he asked if there was just one "wack" this time, lol

My dad had really thick glasses. He would often to fall asleep wearing them. I used to stare at him wondering how he could see his dreams with his specs outside his closed eyes.

As my parents told me, that growing comes from eating, I imagined that every time I had a meal, it would make a certain part of the body grow, for example the legs. Because growth happens very slowly, I did not wonder why I was growing perfectly symmetrically, and considered it pretty clever of the body to manage putting exactly the right amount of food to the right place. Of course, I also imagined that the food would go immediately to its place.
