i used to have a book that showed how the body works, and there were diagrams of people inside the drawing of the body turning cranks. i actually thought there were people inside me pushing out my poo when i went doodie, and i always thought to myself"my, i hope they washed their hands!"

I once told a friend of mine that if you held in a smelly burp, it'd turn into a fart. She believed me.

When I was little, I had flying dreams so real I was sure I could fly.Getting started was always tricky and I had to use special breathing techniques to get off the ground (never in a Superman position but always upright like airborn doggy paddle).I used to tell my friends I could fly. I still have these dreams and still tell my friends the same story :-)

Once when suffering a paticularly nasty bout of constipation when I was very young, I got up my seat and demanded that my mother fetch a kitchen knife to cut off whatever was emerging.

My dad took a tennis ball, told me to look in the air, and pretended to throw it, but kept it in his hand. I thought he threw really hard and fast so I couldn't see the ball go into outer space.

A friend I met at University (ie he was 18! believed that you stored poo in your buttocks, and that after you went to the bathroom your bum was smaller. Hi Jim!

I thought that as you ate, your body filled up with food. I reasoned that that's why we got bigger, to hold all the food we ate. I remember being around six, sitting at the breakfast table, thinking that I must be full from at least the knees down.

i used to think that if i didn't sleep facing the open window the guys that broke in to kill me would stab me in the back, and i wouldn't be able to check them out. If i DID face the window i'd still get killed, but wouldn't really be worried about it coz i could watch them do it.

I used to believe up until very recently that after boys and men urinated they dabbed the end with toilet paper to dry it off. My boyfriend told me with much mirth, when I was about 23, that they only shook it.

When I was young I thought girls didn't go poo. I figured it was only something boys did. Maybe I thought that something so disgusting could never come of of things so pretty and cute. How naive

I was told that if you sleep on your back you swallow your tongue...I have been sleeping on my side ever since

Thanks to a rather misleading reproduction diagram in a childrens fact book, I was, for a long time, under the impression that only boys had bladders.

I used to think that ladies urinated through a little tube that looked like a piece of string, which would hang down from their privates.

I later found out about tampons.

My mum once attempted to explain the circulatory system to me, including the bit about valves that only open one way when the pressure of the blood behind them hits a certain level (or something). I got the impression that this happened because you were moving about and that if you ever stopped moving the valves wouldn't work, the blood would pool in one limb in your body and eventually that bit would die. I blame my inability to sit still on that bit of badly explained science.

I used to be sure I could fly, and even experienced it a couple of times. In public it was a kind of glide with my feet stationary a couple of inches above the floor.
In private I'm sure it was as someone else mentioned more like swimming. In fact I'm pretty sure I had to hold my breath to do it.

My Dad told me that if I didn't let him get splinters out, they'd travel up to my heart and I'd die... Thet's not true is it?
