back when my mom, my dad, my aunt, my uncle and myself lived with my grandparents my parents and i shared a room. anyway, one night i had a dream where i was whispering "mona" behind my bed and then the ceiling fan began to spin really fast and my mom turned into a monster and my aunt came to rescue me. needless to say i am scared to death of ceiling fans and with every house that we have lived in where a ceiling fan was in my room, it was removed because of my fear for them.

When I was small I used to believe that if you peed in the swimming pool the water turned black and the life guard kicked you out. Unsurprisingly I haven't peed in the pool since.

Last year my little cousin, who is about 6 stayed at our house for a week, one day I bought a dozen of donuts and my little cousin started eating them, after the second donut I told him that if he ate the holes in the donuts he would end up with a hole inside his stomach, after that I went about my day, that night I went to grab a dounut and found nothing but the holes of the donuts, he had eaten all of them ecxept for the parts around the hole.

I used to think (when I was 4,5, or 6) that pads were for people who couldn't make it to the bathroom in time, so when my mom told me she would tell me what they were for when I was older, I thought she was just embarassed that she had them.

ok, i still believe this, but ill warn u, its sorta scary. my friend told it to me and that night i had the worst nightmare ever...anyways, its about wen u go to sleep. When u fall asleep i believe that your soul separates from your body and roams around the world. for example- my friends mom was dreaming that she was looking at a cat outside her window. when she woke up, there was the same cat. its even scarier if someone TELLS u it rather u reading it. i warned u. isn't it scary? and i sware, im not making this up.

When I was in middle school, I had a huge final exam that I DID NOT want to study for. I thought about how people say, "sleep on it," and I put all of my notes from the whole year under my pillow instead of preparing for it. I got a B+ on my test. I still wonder if this worked; although I was a really good student...LOL

one day, in the third or fourth grade, our teacher told us about AIDS and the methods by which it was transmitted. it was the usual methods--unprotected sex, unsafe blood transfusions, iv drug use and tattoos, if the needles were unsterilized. apparently, i thought all tattoos resulted in AIDS, because i came home in hysterics, thinking that my mom, who had two tattoos, was going to die of AIDS. it took her half an hour to calm me down enough to explain that there were safe ways of getting tattoos done...
I used to believe that a prince would come at night and take me to his castle and we would get married so I made sure I always brushed my teeth and hair before I went to bed and fell asleep in a pretty pose.

When I was young, I thought when a food was "spicey hot" you could blow on it to make it not "hot. For example, when I chewed Big Red gum, I would take it out of my mouth and blow on it because I thought that would make it "cool" down. Silly me!

One day, while I was in preschool, I had a sore through. I had been playing outside earlier in the day and remembered there being a lot of ant hills around. before story time, I was telling my friend next to me how my throat hurt and it felt like a swallowed an ant (which I would never intentially do as a child, I wouldn't even eat food off the floor), and the thing was still moving around. Immediately my friend told the teacher that I swallowed an ant. I tried to explain to her that I was describing how my throat felt, not what I actually did, but I couldn't find the right words to explain. Everyone believed that I was a moron who ate bugs.
a few days later I found out from the doctor that the feeling I had was because I had strep throat.
i used to belive a fever was a beaver crawling in my head i no right?

When I was a kid I believed the secure "self storage" businesses, that occasionally we drove past was a place where people went to be stored asleep in suspended animation, and awakened at a later date.

when i was very little, I used to believe that people could throw up their heart...my older brothers thought it was a funny practical joke.

When I was little, my grandpa told me you are what you eat. I used to eat so many peanut butter sandwiches! I used to believe that I would actually turn into a jar of peanut butter! I was so little, I didn't even bother wondering why adults weren't food!

For some reason I got it into my head as a child that when you went to the bathroom only you could hear yourself- kind of like chewing something very crunchy and it sounding much louder in your head.
You could imagine how shocked I was on vacation when through thin walls I heard my mother going number 1 & shouted "Hey! I can hear you pee!" Her response was "Well yes, can't you hear other people pee too?"
It still makes me uncomfortable when I hear or know others can hear me pee in public restrooms!

My baby sitter had a daughter who was a teenager, when I was five years old. When the teenager was away at school, I would go into her room and look at her clothes. I thought that one day, I would grow into a teenager overnight and I wouldn't have any clothes to fit me. I was scared I would have to go naked, until my mother explained that it is a gradual growth process, not an overnight growth explosion!
