I used to believe…
soo when i was like 8... i thought that i could make the wind come and go whenever i wanted it to. when i threw my hands up, it would stop. when i slowly lowered them, it would start moving around again.. like i had it burned on my brain that it was because i had powers over the wind or something. i was weird.
"I was firmly convinced I could fly - I even have strong memories of flying or floating down the stairs. I think I probably could and it was only when I was told I couldn't that I stopped being able to."
By Pat (written on this very site - top rated belief).
Amazing. For a really long time, I felt the same way! I used to run down the stairs at home, because i thought (knew?) that I could just fly - but I never did, though... I think I dreamt it, but the dreams felt so... Real. I still dream that I can fly - it's always the same over again, me flying over the heads of my friends in kindergarden. (and now I'm fifteen so I've been having the same dream frequently for many years now). Sometimes I'm running down a hill, and halfway down, I levitate. Really cool (:
I watched a movie when i was just a young tike and it was said that a charachter had a stroke when they slipped in the shower. So from then i believed that having a 'stoke' meant that you slipped in the shower.
I knew that people who had cancer frequently lost their hair, but I didn't know it was a symptom of the treatment. I thought it was a symptom of cancer itself. Cue heart attack when I noticed my long hair falling out more than normal in the shower!

Oh, Where to begin. I used to believe once that I could see through my objects If I was crosseyed. Know now.
I used to believe I could control wind, I would sing and the wind would speed up or close my hands. There was an odd momment under a tree where my friend told me to show another friend my power. I closed my hands tightly and the wind blew hard, that scared me. The belief died away on its own.
I used to believe I could read minds. My friend and I would ask eachother what we were thinking and I would always get it right, but we were giving eachother hints -_-
I used to believe I could predict the future and at day care I was telling this boy there who I was going to marry by closing my eyes and having a random name pop into my head. It was Allen Brent Tee, what a screwed up name.
At 11 and 12 I studied up on the 6th scense, (I still believed I could control the wind) I really wanted to levitate, but didn't think it was possible. I learned about chackras and meditation. I believed that if I meditated on a chakra (as the site states) I could levitate, so I would sit on the floor and concentrate on my Earth Chakra and strangly enough I could feel a lifting motion (I'm feeling one now by typing this) I don't think you can Physically levitate, but maybe you can make it feel as if you are.
I used to believe that whenever you accidentally swallowed food without chewing it, there was a little mouse-trap looking thing living in your stomach that chewed it for you!

When I was young I was told by my grammey and Mom that the proper term for going "poop" was that I need to go "grunny". The word "poop" was considered as serious as saying any other four letter word. I finally reached the age when I felt it was okay to ask why we use the term "grunny" instead of poop. I was told that my brother, seven years older, was making his first "BM" on the toilet and kept grunting. My grandmother therefor felt it necessary to coin the phrase "going grunny" and passed a family law that any other word used for "going grunny" would be punishable under the same sentencing laws as saying any of the other forbidden four letter words.
It literally took two years to admit to my wife that I didn't go poop as a kid--I "Went Grunny".
Needless to say my kids "go poop", Much to the disdain of my Mother. Ha, Ha. And my poor grammie (god rest her soul) is probably spinning in her grave.
Don't get me started on what we were to call our other anatomy and anatomical functions.

When I was about 8 and my sister was 7, my dad was playing The Sims. All of a sudden, his male character went into the bathroom and stood in front of the toilet. my sister asked "How come he's standing up?" and my dad said "sometimes men stand up when they go to the bathroom." we were both trying to figure out how men decided when to stand up and when to sit down, as if it was a preference.
I used to believe that when you ate, the food just built up in your body and you died when you got all filled up. I was terrified of eating too much because I didn't want to fill up too fast and die.

My sister used to tell me the reason I had to take naps was because while I was sleeping my parents would change the battery in my brain.

When I was little I used to fake being sick a lot, because then I got to stay in bed and get spoiled by my grandparents, then this guy dressed in white started stopping by every time I was faking, and my gp's would tell me it was the doctor and he was going to operate on me, needless to say all of a sudden I was all healthy and out of bed.
Later in life I found out that the guy was a mason who worked in the same company as my grandfather grrr.

My mom had me believing that if it was cold outside and I went out with wet hair that I would get a strep throat. The same went for going to bed with damp hair. Even though I know this isn't what causes strep throat, to this day I still stop and think maybe I should get out the blow dryer....just in case!!
I was once told my a elder friend of mine (sure he knew it wasnt true) that in his school, the teacher's chair had a pipe connect from the middle of the chair to the toilet to enable him to fart. He also told me that the students would know, when the teacher attempts to align when he is seated.
I was probably 7 or 8 then, and gave a hard thought to the story, I was half hearted to believe as I didnt see any such thing in my school. But eventually did decide to believe after 3 days of 'deliberation' with myself.
i used to believe that i could breathe wind from my mouth because whenever i blew and breathed out lots of cool air came out and on cold days i believed that smoke came out of my mouth
I used to think that when people go to sleep, their body fires all their 'workers' and only had one person - the ermergency worker. And there would be a sign 'help wanted'. When you woke up you would have all the workers back. I had an active imagination.
I used to think that the reason that you had bad breath in the morrning was because at night there were little bugs, like fleas, that would play in your mouth. And when you started to wake up the fleas would hop out really quick, but when you started to close your mouth one farted cause he got scared.
And thats why your breath smelled. So i would try to sleep with my mouth closed but they always seemed to get in.
i was talking to my aunt one day about what you believed in when you were little and she told me a funny one
she didnt know how the body worked, so she just assumed thaat there was something running it. She thought that snap crackle and pop were in her stomach and they ran everything that happened inside of us.
I used to believe I could control water. Everytime it used to rain I used to concentrate on the clouds and it would stop. My friend was amazed. And when I was in the shower I looked at the top bit of the shower and it stopped coming out. The thing was the pipe was clogged LOL.
