I used to take showers with my dad. Sometimes, when soaping up, water streamlets would run off his elbow. I was always so disappointed I couldn't pee out of my arm too.

I used to believe that when the news reported that someone treated for shock, it meant they were treated for the emotion. It was a long time before I learned that medically, shock means the inability of the body to supply enough oxygen to the organs and tissue, usually to to injury or blood loss.
I have always been a little spacey and it is often hard for others to get my attention when I am focusing on something. When I was younger I was told by my mother that I had "selective hearing" and I believed for many years that this was the name of a hearing disorder. I would earnestly explain to people if they had trouble getting my attention that it was due to my "selective hearing problem."

at my middle school there was a drinking fountain by the bathroom. you could hear the toilets flushing in the bathroom while you were taking a drink. the water would get all warm when someone flushed the toilet!! it was so gross i thought it was filtered pee straight from the toilet

When I was a little girl I got sick and had temperature for about a week. For some reason, just to say something, my mom would make a comment after she took the thermometer out of my tushy along the lines of "Now you've done it again, 104!" or "I don;t know what we're going to do with you, it's still 103 and a half!"
