When I was little I used to beelive in many odd things. I used to beleive that I was an indian like pokahontis, but my name was Pikadolo. And i had the power that I could change into a tiger. I used to go around the school growling at people...I also used to beleive that since I was an indian, I could heal things. This one time I saw a tree with a broken branch, and I patched it up with snow and convinced myself that in a few days the tree will be healed...

When I was young, ever since I can rember, and until I was probley 10, I was strange.lol. I would lay down to sleep, and start dreaming that I was a butterfly, I would live out life as a butterfly in these dreams. And right before I woke up, I would lay down and start dreaming about being a human (as a butterfly) I had thoughts and everything in my dream. And each night, my stuff from the nights before dream would be tied in or continued, so I really had a 'life' So for years, I never really knew if I was a human or a butterfly. Because I was always dreaming I was living the life of the other one.

I used to believe…

My best friend and I used to pretend that we could control unseen spirits with our minds. One windy day, we sat under some trees and I told her I would make a pinecone fall. A gust of wind knocked a pinecone off and it fell on her head. We were convinced for years that we had special powers and would always try to practice them.

i used to belive that if i stood on my hands for a very long time that i would fall in to the sky but the only thing i got to was a nose bleed

I was about 7 or 8 and I had watched the horror movie Carrie. It scared me out of my mind! It also had me convinced that i had the ability to blow things up with my mind and i was so scared that i was going to start killing people with my powers!

i used to believe that when i ate stuff that there was a party going on in my stomach and that if i didnt eat my food the leftover food would be sad cuz they didnt get to go to the party. when i had a stomach ache, there was too much partying, n when i was hungry (aka: stomach growling n stuff) that ment my stomach was angry at me and was yelling at me to start partying again...tums were the cops if there was too much partying.

Until I was about 14 I believed that adults could read children's minds. I would always get really nervous if I was thinking about something naughty, and would keep looking around to check if anyone had noticed. I still actually worry about it sometimes, mainly around the opposite sex, and I'm 23.

I was about 5 at the time... I had seen an elephant drink through his nose on Sesame Street, so I figured I could do the same thing. I got a cup of rootbeer, grabbed a straw, inserted it into my nose, and inhaled.
I found out that only elephants can drink through their noses, and that rootbeer hurts a LOT when it goes into your nose.

I used to believe that guys and girls use the bathroom the same way until I learned later in the 6th grade that they stand up to pee....I thought it was so gross and have never gone into a boys bathroom.

When i was little i used to think that any teeth that were under a pillow the tooth fairy took so every night i was terrified of sleeping with a pillow in case my head slipped under the pillow and the tooth fairy came and took all my teeth out every night my mom tried to get me to sleep with a pillow but i refused every time!

I blamed my small chest on my sleeping on my stomach until I was 16. I figured that sleeping on your side was the best way to get bigger. No matter how I tried, I would wake up sleeping on my stomach. It was when I asked my friend (who is really big in THAT department) what way she slept and she said on her tummy that I stopped believing.

when i was little, i used to hear a drumming sound in my ear when i went to sleep. i thought it was little men marching down a staircase like my ear was an airplane (or "ear"plane :P) and they were marching onto my pillow. i thought that for the longest time...i still dunno what that drumming sound is :/

I used to believe…

when i was ten i used to believe that if i got naked and put slipery liquids on my body that i would be able to run as fast as the wind.Unfortunatly i just ended up being humilated by people driving in their cars, who were passing by.

I used to believe…

One time we were out driving, I had to wee, so my dad stopped the car and took me outside, but I didn't want to wee, so this lady who came by told me I could wee on the tracto grass, and so I did, but after that I wouldn't wee unless we found tractor grass, and I was the only one who knew what it was. My parents had a hard time everytime I had to wee to find tractor grass...The funny thing is that today, noone has a clue what tractor grass is...

When I was in elementary school I had to get my first hepatitis shot. So I asked my mom about hepatitis and she told me about how you're liver wouldn't work and your skin and the whites of your eyes would turn yellow. Some days I would feel sick so I'd run to the mirror and check to see if I had turned yellow. I was really deathly afraid of contracting hepatitis, A B C D E F G H I J....etc. (It came it EVERY letter of the ABCs for me, not just B or C)

I used to believe…

When I first learned how to read for some reason I checked a book out from the library about a little girl who had diabetes. I cried when I read it and for YEARS afterward I thought that if I ate too much sugar, or too much in general, at a given time I'd get diabetes and die. I read about the symptoms somewhere too, and if ever I thought I went potty too much I'd get scared and wait outside crying until my dad got home. I'd tell him "daddy, I think I have "dee-a-betty's"

I couldn't pronounce it until I was in middle school. I got over this fear sometime, I guess.

I used to believe…

When I was 8 or so i believed we had two stomachs, one for food and one for fluids. I just couldn't figure out how the body knew which was which. So, when someone choked and said it went down the wrong tube, I thought they meant the food went down the fluid tube.

My belief has not been explained away by age or anything else for that matter. Since I was a child ( 40 now) When I walk, jog or drive by street lamps they will turn off. Not all of them just one or a few. This happens more frequently when I am either extremely mad/upset or happy. The time of the month has nothing to do with it & I have already contacted our Electric company to see if the street lamps were on a certain schedule etc. I also have to replace my own household lightbulbs weekly. SOOO I guess I still do believe in MY special power altho I am not sure what it is!

I used to believe…

when I was young my mom told me that Santa's elf had given her neosporin(the stuff you put on cuts and whatever), and that it was "magic medicine". everytime I got hurt I would ask her for my "magic medicine" and it instantly felt better when she put it on. Ahh, placebo effect!
