I'm too young to remember, but my mother has told me that the first time I used the toilet properly I got really upset when she flushed my poo away and I cried because I hadn't said goodbye to it.

I used to believe I went to a secret land (I called it Gwerky) - I thought I always went there at 9pm (I guess my bedtime was earlier than that). And I believed that I got awards - like badges on some sort of special suit - there if when I had cereal like Grape Nuts I made it into different shapes (like covering the bowl so it's like tarmac or into a moon shape)

I used to believe…

You know how when you close 1 eye, then open that 1 and close the other. Like an alternating wink. When I was little, i thought that i could actually move things by doing that!

i clearly recall thinking that i could control the sun with the power of a stone - by holding it up to the sky and shouting "come out!"

i actually got a couple of my playground friends doing it too. pretty cloudy windy day i guess!

when i found out about santa and the tooth fairy i decided that there were "other" things that adults were keeping from children...

I used to honestly believe that all adults could mind read - and i'd be taught how to do it once i got older too!

hall of fame

I used to think that when doctors didn't want to prescribe you medicine, they'd give you a gazebo.

I used to think that when I peed into the nature and flowers would later grow there, that I would then be partly in those flowers. I hated to go pee on the toilet, because I didn't want to live in the toilent...

A big part of me still thinks this way...

I used to believe…

When i was a kid i was told if i got a splinter it would travel through my veins and go to my heart and kill me....i would cry and scream when my older sister told me (i was 5) Nice sister isnt she? lol

I used to believe…

When my sister was little, she would never like to eat so everytime she refused to eat, my mom and i would say "if you don't eat you'll turn invisable! Oh my goodness your turning invisible!!! hurry and eat!!!" She would run and eat every time.

I used to belive that I could fly. I would climb on top of a moderetly high vantage point and jump, arms out streched in front of me. I would feel this nervous ball form in the pit of my stomach as gravity temporarily gave way at the begining of my jump. I was sure that this was the begining of what it must feel like to fly. Then the ground would rush up on me as gravity clenched its claws around my childhood dream and I would fall a short distance to the ground. Ever determined I would return to my vantage point to have another go at it. I was just not consintrating hard enough I would tell myself. Truly beliving that if I tried anything and worked hard enough at it it would be achivable.

My sister used to belive that if anyone around her just happened to say ickstam nemoiy sha-la-la (what an odd thing to say), it would cause her to fart.

I used to believe…

At one point, I was convinced that if you had a dream about a particular person, they had the same dream. My theory was disproved when I approached my older brother one day about a dream we had the night before. He had no idea what I was talking about.

I used to believe…

When I was in bed at night, I would rest my head on my arm, and hear the blood pumping. I thought I was hearing the steps of a giant coming towards me, and I wondered what the hell he wanted with me, but I was looking forward to meet him!

I used to believe that pee was stored inside your body in a cup, and if you had to pee really bad you should stand up very straight and walk very slow as to not "spill" any, which is what caused you to pee your pants.

I used to believe…

When i was a kid i believed that i was a wizard and to teleport to magic realm i had to stand in a circle of "magic sticks" and my friend had to say Serventor molenke avious while my eyes were closed but all he did was get out stuff and move stuff so it looked like magic real that was when i was 6 i am 10 now. I used to believe…

My daughter, at age 4 to 5, really believed that if she sat in the lotus position, closed her eyes and breathed "oooommmm" she became invisible. I don't know how she came to this but needless to say I played along with it and would pretend to look for her when she did this. Later on she was disappointed that this didn't work when other people were in the room. I told her her special powers only worked when only mum was in the room because she got these powers through me.

When I was little, I used to believe that if people were touching you, even through clothes, they could tell what you were thinking.

I have no idea why.
