I used to believe…

When I was little I loved to eat beans and I used to believe that I only pooped because I ate beans. So, for a week I stopped eating beans, but of course it didn't help any; however, I still refuse to eat beans.

at about 4 i thought my stomach was the large region under my chest, like many kids. However i thought it was so big because it had a ferris wheel in it, with half of egg shells for each food, and when, say broccoli came down my throat, i thought a cup, labeled too, would go up, catch it, then go deposit it at the hole at the bottom, that looked very much like the garbage disposer hole in the sink.

I thought that girls just did not fart. The one day a girl in our gang (SV) leap froged a post box and let rip, the strain being too much. My illusion was gone forever at the age of 12.

When I was about 4, I had a dream that I was flying all over the house. The next day when I woke up, I kept jumping off of all the furniture trying to fly. I eventually concluded that the furniture was too low to jump off of, so i managed to climb onto the roof. We can all guess what happened next...the neighbors still think I'm tottally and completely nuts...i hang out on my roof now with my friends...they all peer out their windows just to make sure I don't have another trip to the hospital...oopsies

I used to believe that when I squinted at a light these light beams (think light sabers) were shooting out toward me and that I was the only person in history able to do that.

When I was a child I asked my mum why poo and wee were called poo and wee. She said that they weren't the actual names, they were just what my brother and I called them. I took this to me that we had invented the words ourselves and they had spread to worldwide usage. I was very proud of us!

I used to believe that i could move things with my mind. I remember at a wedding i went to when i was 5 i was moving balloons with my mind. They were floating in the air and when i commanded that they come down they would. It was only later when i watched the wedding video that i realized that the balloons were coming down because they were near an air vent. lol

i used to belife that if i rubbed a magic snow globe then i would get powers beacuse 1 day i was lookibng in 2 it wen i was hungry and then my mum shouted dinner

I used to do this thing where I thought "I have to do _______ or the world will blow up." like "I have to knock on this door 3 times or the world will blow up." I don't know how that got started but I thought that if I stopped telling myself that the world would blow up and if I didn't do the stuff, the world would blow up.

When I was little, mydad told me 'you are what you eat'. I thought that this meant that eventually, you would turn into the kind of food you eat, and htis was why we ate something different every night for dinner. I guess I thought it would slow the transformation. I also thought that if you were to eat a lot of one thing, then it would quicken the process, and I always wondered why vegetarians weren't all walking vegetables.

I used to believe that if you farted too hard and the heat was on,thehouse would blow up because of the noxious gas and the mix of heat together. So one day in the winter,I made my brother try it.I held him up to the radiator,he farted REALLY BAD,and i ran down the front stairs and outside in the freezing cold holding my brother close to me.The neighbors shoveling their yards stared at us and laughed.I was so embarrassed and my brother started to cry.we went back inside and i NEVER tried that again.too bad it didn't blow up after all of that embarrassment!

I used to think (from personal experience) that I only threw up on certain days of the week. Those days were: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. I don't remember ever being sick on any of the other days. lol! Whadda dumb kid!

Whenever my mom and I crossed the street together, she told me to hold her hand. When I asked her why, she told me that the people in the cars couldn't see me, meaning that I was short and therefore couldn't be seen. However, I thought that she meant that I had the amazing power of becoming invisible whenever I crossed the street. This meant that I was free to make weird faces at innocent people whenever I stepped off the curb. After I discovered that this wasn't true, I lived in fear of random people coming to get me for making faces at them.

My mom told be that when you got the hiccups, it meant a little elf was jumping around in your stomach. I tried to calm him down by sitting still or laying down but the hiccups wouldn't stop!

As a little kid, I noticed that vomit looked a lot like apple sauce, which led to believe that it WAS apple sauce. This is why I refused to eat the stuff as a kid.

I used to beleive that if you ran really fast before jumping into a pool you could walk on water. i spent hours just trying and trying till my mom told me it was impossible.

When I was like 5 or 6 I used to believe that your tastebuds were like these tiny tiny tiny little buttons/lights in your mouth. Then whenever you would eat say for example, something sweet, then your "sweet" tastebud would flash a small green light which was supposed to let your brain know that the thing you are eating is sweet.

I had a recurring dream as a child that I could breathe through my ears under water, something like gills. I spent hours on the bottom of the swimming pool trying to prove it (obviously only a minute or two at a time!). I was very disappointed when I found I couldn't.

Just like someone else here, I thought that pain in a dream resulted in real life pain. What convinced me of this was when I had a dream that commies shot my leg, and I woke right up with sciatica pain so bad, I had to go to the hospital. Woah.

When I was little, I thought I could see through things b/c if I put a piece of paper in front of one eye, and looked at a book further away, I could see the outline of the paper, but I could still see the words in the book. I thought I was the only person with x-ray vision.
