When I was younger, I used to believe that if I slept with my legs open just a little bit that bugs will crawl up "there".

I used to think that unless someone said, "Sweet dreams" to me before I went to bed, then I would wake up screaming from horrible nightmares - but I wasn't allowed to TELL people to say sweet dreams, because then it wouldn't count.

I thought one couldn't (shouldn't?) pull one's blanket up past one's belly-button. So, I was cold from my belly up, until my mom told me otherwise.

my brother told me when I was little, that sleeping on the side would make all your body's organs drop to that side and you would be all heavy on one side first then probably die.
for quite some time I forced myself to sleep on my back, and shreeked out of bed, when I woke on the side.. untill i found my mother asleep one morning on her side and woke her up in panic to save her live! my brother did get a little telling of. today, i still cannot fall asleep lying on the back.

When I was a little boy, I once had a nightmare: a kind of strange creature was hitting my belly. This bad dream woke me up, and I realized that my belly was kind of aching. I was terrified! Instead of thinking that the pain was the cause for the nightmare, I began to believe that dreams really happen and affect you in the real life!

I was not a normal kid. Normal kids think that a monster is unther their bed right? Well, somewhere I got this idea that my great-grandma Gert was living under my bed in her nightgown and housecoat and if I dangled my feet she would pull me under and stab me to death...I'm now 14 and I'm still very afraid of her.

When I was about three my godmother came to visit us from Africa for a few weeks. We didn't have an extra bed, so she opted to sleep on one of those bumpy, foam pads people sometimes put underneath their sheets.

I was completely amazed that she was able to sleep on spikes and assumed everyone from Africa did so. I refused to touch her bed.

I used to think you absolutely HAD to have your eyes CLOSED for a full three hours before you could fall asleep. So I'd lie in bed and since I thought I couldn't open my eyes, they naturally started itching and such, but I wouldn't let myself open them. It was really tormenting. Finally I'd give in and open my eyes, then I'd freak out because now I had to hold my eyes closed for 3 hours again, and I thought I'd never get to sleep, and I'd end up running to my parents crying because I would never fall asleep.

I used to believe that when my mom said "Let's go to the Mattress Ball" (which meant for me to go to sleep) that I was really going to go to a Ball- and I insisted in putting on my finest attire... soon she said- "Tonight is pajama night at the Mattress Ball" !!!

After Hearing About Someone Dying In Their Sleep When I Was 5, I Began To Believe That If I Went To Sleep, I Might Forget How To Wake Up And Die While I Was Asleep.

I used to believe i was psychic because my dreams always came true. and later on when i told someone about it, it stopped. so i kept it a secret again and it came back. But the reason that happened was probably cause i told my sister my dreams every morning and she would lie to me that a part of my dream came true. and i only figured this out when i was 13

I used to hear, on TV soaps and stuff, all this fuss being made about people 'sleeping together', and I never understood why a woman or ma would get reall angry and upset and make such a big deal when their partner 'slept with' someone else, as I would tell everyone else ' What's the big deal? I sleep with my brother, my sister, and my friends all the time!'

I used to think when i fell asleep kidnappers would come and take me from my bed, and my brothers would joke with me and say they would fight off the badguys and let them take me. So everynight I would pray and ask God to send angels to protect me, if i didn't, i wouldn't be able to sleep!
