When I was little I slept for like a day and a half and had a weird dream that made me think i couldn't go to sleep or I'd never wake back up again.
After Hearing About Someone Dying In Their Sleep When I Was 5, I Began To Believe That If I Went To Sleep, I Might Forget How To Wake Up And Die While I Was Asleep.
I used to believe i was psychic because my dreams always came true. and later on when i told someone about it, it stopped. so i kept it a secret again and it came back. But the reason that happened was probably cause i told my sister my dreams every morning and she would lie to me that a part of my dream came true. and i only figured this out when i was 13
I used to hear, on TV soaps and stuff, all this fuss being made about people 'sleeping together', and I never understood why a woman or ma would get reall angry and upset and make such a big deal when their partner 'slept with' someone else, as I would tell everyone else ' What's the big deal? I sleep with my brother, my sister, and my friends all the time!'
I used to think when i fell asleep kidnappers would come and take me from my bed, and my brothers would joke with me and say they would fight off the badguys and let them take me. So everynight I would pray and ask God to send angels to protect me, if i didn't, i wouldn't be able to sleep!
Since I would always hear that getting a good nights sleep would make you grow, I thought that little elves would come into your room while sleeping, chop off you foot, and snap in another piece of ankle liek a Lego. It wasn't until later that I realized that if this was true people would have very long ankles.
At age 5 I really wanted a bow and arrow set, but my Mom said I was too young. I used to dream I was a Pilgrim in a log cabin, being attacked by Indians. When they left I would run outside and pick up all the arrows and put them under my bed. When I awoke, I would jump out of bed and look underneath the bed for the arrows I had collected during the dream. I was so disappointed to find nothing. I did this for many nights, knowing someday it would work.
I used to think if you slept on your right side(the side in which I thought your heart was)you would crush your heart during the night so I would always sleep on my left side, little did I know your heart was on your left when I found out I was horrified that I came so close to death so many times, I could barely sleep anymore unless i was on my back
I used to think when I feel asleep anywhere besides my bed(Like the couch)hundreds little mice would come and lift me up and take me back to my room because in the morning I would aways end up back in bed.
I believed that when you go to sleep
my toys used to try and control my
body and then dance around this red mushroom light of mine
i used to believe that if i kept my mouth open while sleeping I would swallow either a spider (which you do 7 times a year average) or a small monster looking to inhabit your body.
As a child i lived in a very hot country , and so during the summer , my mom would make me and my sister have afternoon naps! i was a very hyper child ...and always put up a fight when sleeping time came...In Tehran ( the city i was living in) trucks go through streets selling salt during the afternoon and screaming namakee namakee ( salt salt) ..and so to scare me ...my mom told me that if i didn't sleep agha namakee ( mr. salt) would come and take me away ...and then would turn me into salt and sell me ! I slept every day from that day on ( or acted as though i did) ... and every time i saw salt ... looked at it closely to see if i could see any children ! i actually came face to face with mr.salt once ... i peed myself!
When I was in Kindergarden I used to believe that when you slept you didn't breathe, so when we would have nap time I would lay down and hold my breathe for as long as I could so It would look like I was asleep. I have no idea why I thought this..lol.
While trying to sleep I would hear a constant "shoo shoo shoo..." type noise in my ear as my head was against the pillow. I didn't know I was just hearing my own heartbeat in my pressed ear, so I was under the impression that some type of train was coming to take me to my dreams. I even tried to inquire about this "dream train" with my Mom, but she couldn't figure out what I was trying to explain!
I USED TO BELIEVE IN THE SAND MAN, I THOUGHT HE WAS THE COOLEST GUY IN DA WORLD..... I ALSO THOUGHT HE CUD MAKE ALL MY DREAMS BECOME DREAMS....!!!!!! I WISH HE WAS REALLY REAL... PLEASE???
One night when I was about 4 I couldn't fall asleep and I was crying cause I thought that I had forgotten how to sleep.
I used to lie awake in the night worrying whether to sleep with my mouth open or closed. I believed if I left my mouth open, a man would come in through the window and pour poison into it (and I would die). I also worried that if I left it closed I would suffocate. I would lie in my, until I got to sleep, opening and closing my mouth.
when I was nine I went to see my dad's uncle in Germany.I had to make his grandson ( he was 5 ) to go to sleep, but he wouldn't listen to me . The next day I put on my mom's high-heeled shoes and told him I had grown, because I slept and that he would remain small. He believed me and started crying! CONCLUSION: REVENGE IS SWEET!
When I was little, I used to be scared of the dark. So I used to go to sleep with a little lamp on. Later, when I was asleep, my parents would switch it off. I used to wake up in the middle of the night and yell for my mum or dad. They would tell me there had been a power cut and that was why it was dark. When I looked out of the window "to see the men fixing the street lights" they were always too far away to see. Hmm...
I Used to belive that when I slept my goobers would crawl out of my nose and into my eyes but one night I was crying because I was afraid that they were going to eat my eyeballs that I found out that was a whole bunch of nonsense.
