I used to think that when you were sleeping you stoped breathing. Therefore when someone died they would soon wake up and live again.
I used to believe that if I left my window open at night a bat would make a nest in my hair.
I thought that if any part of my body was outside of the covers when I went to bed someone would come and chop it off. So, I would line the sides of the bed all the way down to the head with stuffed animals so I would be protected!
My parents had some carved wooden figures that my brother bought them in Korea - they were an old Korean man and woman, both with bizarrely carved faces and carrying big walking sticks. My sister convinced me that when I went to sleep at night, they came alive and beat me over the head with their little sticks.
When I was younger my brother told me that if you had one of those dreams where you were falling, and you hit the ground and died in your dream, you really died. I always shocked myself awake during those dreams, until one night I dreamed I hit the ground, and woke up just fine.

I used to believe that if u dreamt of somethin more than once it would come true, this really freaked me out cos i just had recurring dreams of my school bus crashing and every1 died. When the bus did crash " which scared me completley" i screamed really loud and cried but we had only cliped the back of a car. i was a ashamed to got back on the bus lol
My dad had really thick glasses. He would often to fall asleep wearing them. I used to stare at him wondering how he could see his dreams with his specs outside his closed eyes.
When I was 3, I used to believe that while
people slept, ambulance used to come
along and mistake sleeping people for
dead people, and take them away.
I used to have trouble sleeping at night. My mother would try to talk me into falling asleep sometimes by saying, "You need your rest, we're getting up at the crack of dawn tomorrow!" What I heard was "We're getting up at the crackadon tomorrow," and I always thought she was talking about some dinosaur that was out roaming about very early in the morning.
I would have extremely vivid dreams as a child, and fully believed that when I fell asleep I would be transported to another world and live my life there. One night I had a bit of a nightmare (I was falling) and I woke up sort of bouncing in my bed. From that point onward I was convinced that there was an extremely strange little city living above the cealing of my bed...and when just before I woke up every morning I would fall down from it.
I learned the prayer "Now I lay me down to sleep..." to say at bed time, but the line "If I should die before I wake" disturbed me greatly and I was convinced I might die before I woke, so I started trying to sleep as stiff and strait with my arms at my side like the dead.
being born into a vietnamese family, we learned about lunar new years and how every year has a different animal. i always thought that when you slept at night, you would turn into that animal, and it scared the hell out of me to know that my mother was a snake.
When i was about 6 or 7 my mum always used to say to me that i would have to be in bed before the moon came out. she said if i wasnt in bed then the moon man would come out and get me. when i realised it wasnt true i felt so stupid and all my friends just laughed at me!

I got very bored with squeezing my eyes shut everynight I just used to ignore it. It's perhaps why I have bad eyes now. :)
i used too believe that mice worked my brain. When i went to sllep at night i would ask them which dream i wanted that night. really thought it was some kind of video thing going on. wish life really was like that!!
