When I was little I thought that when you were asleep people could tell what you were dreaming just by looking at you, unless:

-There was no light shining directly on you.
-You had your eyes and mouth covered if you were lying on your back.
-You had the back of your head covered if you were lying on your side.

About 4 years ago, I watched a freaky movie about small creatures that sucked the air out of you while you were sleeping. They stood on your chests, took deep breaths, and boom, you're dead.
I was so mortified that for the following year, I never slept on my back, face up.

top belief!

Once when I was like in second grade, our teacher told the class that without the sun there would be no life on the planet. Because of this I believed that sleeping at night was really dying because the sun was out and then coming back to life when the sun came up.

When I was younger, I used to believe that the goop that formed in the corner of your eyes while you slept was left-over sleepdust that the sandman had sprinkled on them. I also believed that if you left it on there, it would grow and you would go blind. What a dumbo!

I use to have a pic of a unicorn w/ castles that floted in the air. I would think that when i fell asleep, the unicorn would jump out of the pic, and would pretect me from all the bad things :)

I thought that if any part of my body was outside of the covers when I went to bed someone would come and chop it off. So, I would line the sides of the bed all the way down to the head with stuffed animals so I would be protected!

My parents had some carved wooden figures that my brother bought them in Korea - they were an old Korean man and woman, both with bizarrely carved faces and carrying big walking sticks. My sister convinced me that when I went to sleep at night, they came alive and beat me over the head with their little sticks.

When I was younger my brother told me that if you had one of those dreams where you were falling, and you hit the ground and died in your dream, you really died. I always shocked myself awake during those dreams, until one night I dreamed I hit the ground, and woke up just fine.
