I had a recurring dream as a child that I could breathe through my ears under water, something like gills. I spent hours on the bottom of the swimming pool trying to prove it (obviously only a minute or two at a time!). I was very disappointed when I found I couldn't.

When I was little, I thought I could see through things b/c if I put a piece of paper in front of one eye, and looked at a book further away, I could see the outline of the paper, but I could still see the words in the book. I thought I was the only person with x-ray vision.

When i was in kindergarten my Dad told me that he could jump higher than the house. He was my Daddy so of course he wouldn't lie! I brought home all my friends from school one day so he could show us all just how high he could jump. Imagine my humiliation when he only jumped about 6", I told him he hadn't jumped higher than the house and he responded that he had because the house couldn't jump!

When I was 6, my friend told me that her dad could walk from planet to planet. I imagined her 70 year old dad making big steps from one planet to another and I could not understand how such a small man could do so. Obviously, I did not put much thought into it, but I became really afraid of my friend's dad from then on.

When I was 6 I became convinced that Grape flavored cough syrup (which was delicious to me) enabled me to have super powers. I convinced my 4 year old sister that this was true and over the course of four hours or so, we drank the whole bottle. Not long thereafter we were both puking our guts out and I got in trouble.

Once, while carrying a bowl of snacks and a glass of soda to my room, I believed I could actually drop the glass, reach into the bowl and grab a snack, eat the snack, then catch the glass and take a drink, everything perfectly unharmed. (I was 7.) I dropped the glass and took a snack and ate it. Then, I reached for the glass, but it was too late. The glass shattered upon the floor and I was grounded.

I used to belive if someone liftes you up, and you lift them at the same time, you will float in the air.

When I was younger I did gymnastics. One day I firmly believed that I could forward-roll my way up the stairs. I tried it, only to roll fast back down again and bash my head really hard on the wall at the bottom. Boy, did that hurt.

I used to beleive I could fly, I tried to show my mom by flying from my bed to the exposed light in my room. I touched the light and broke it, then I got electracuted and taken to the hospital to recover. I never tried to fly again, exept that time I jumped out of a tree to the sun...I broke my leg.

I used to think that, if you accidentally inhaled while you were blowing up a balloon, you would inflate just like it and start to float like in cartoons. Then when you exhaled you would fly around the room as you deflated.

I used to believe that you can fly if you wear a cape because all the super heros that can fly wear them. So I often put on a blanket and jump off from a table. I'm still glad I didn't try the balcony.

When i was 9 i hit my funny bone for the first time in gym class, I was shocked and figured i had gained some sort of special powers. I hit my funny bone many times that day untill i finally realized it didn't really give me any special power. Very disapointing.

I used to believe, because of watching cartoons, that I could spin my legs around fast enough that they would look like wheels and could run really fast. I also thought, because of watching cartoons also, that I could jump and stay in the air for a few seconds then run.

when i was a child i used to beleave that all humans could breathe under water and had simply forgot how. i figured we could breathe by using our ears insted of our mouth or nose, i tried this for years with no avail.

I used to believe that everyone could fly, they just didn't want anyone who hadn't figured out how to be able to, so they lied and said no one could fly.

I must've spent about an entire week trying to figure out how. ubluckily, nothing worked.

secretly, i still think i could fly if i tried hard enough.

When i used to play the game of hide and seek when i was younger, i used to believe that nobody could see me if i couldn't see them. Consequently i used to stand in one spot and cover my eyes thinking i had found a good hiding place.

When I was really little, I thought that what you did in your dreams was real, just in a different place that you went to at night. As I used to fly in my dreams, I told my parents that I could fly. They told me that I couldn't, so I took them outside to the patio to demonstrate. Needless to say I just did this the one time.

I used to believe that when I was 18, my parents would teach me how to read minds. It was a secret that all adults knew.
