My dad used to tell me and my sisters that if you unscrewed your belly button, you know, like with a screwdriver or something, that your butt would fall off. Sometimes I still think that...

My aunt told me when I was really little that if I played with my bellybutton too much my butt would fall off.

I sobbed for days and wouldn't so much as TOUCH my bellybutton. I was scared to touch it for years.

i used to play with my belly button until it bled my mother then told me if i kept doing it my butt would fall off. needless to say i stopped playing with it!

I remember when I was little my daddy told me that if I didn't wash and clean my belly button that all of my arms and legs would fall off. He found me in the bathroom scrubbing my bellybutton and I had scrubbed it so much that the skin was raw and almost bleeding. Needless to say, he told me the truth after he stopped laughing.

I was told at a younger age not to play with your belly button, that is what held your butt on.

When I was about 5 I had a fascination with bellybuttons, and my Father told me that if I continued to play with it, I'd untie it and my bum would drop off! Needless to say I stopped.

My mother used to tell us that if you unscrewed your belly button, your butt would fall off. I used to sit in the bath trying to unscrew my bellybutton. I am so glad I out grew that one

My dad once told me when i was little that my bum would fall off if i put a screw driver in my belly button and turn it three times. I thought it would be cool to have a detachable bum so i tried it and when my bum didn't fall off i cried because i thought my bellybutton was broken.

My brother was always told by his Grandparents thet "If you unscrew your bellybutton, your bum would fall off"
It took him thill he was 12 before I (the younger sister) could convince him otherwise.

When I was a child, my dad told me that my belly button was really made out of a string of skin. He said that if you untied it your legs would fall off! I used to worry that mine would accidentally come undone.

My aunt told me that if you twist your bellybutton, your butt will fall off. I believed her, since my aunt wouldn't lie to me! I went to kindergarten and told everyone about it.

I used to believe that when you play with your belly button too much, the screw inside will unscrew and your ass will fall off.

I also was told by my older brother that if you unscrewed your belly button your butt would fall. I remember thinking that was stupid, but as my brother had told me that, it had to be true!

I'm from Spain, so I guess it's a worldwide belief...
