i used to believe that if you stood on top of a grave, you were sucked into the ground and see them dead!

I believed that if you put a dying person in a totally sealed air-tight transparent glass box, when the person actually dies, the glass box would develop a small crack indicating that the soul (spirit) has escaped that way.

I always used to wonder how an actor that had died in his previous movie had come to life again in his next flick. I actually thought that actors had superpowers so that they could return from the dead.

I used to believe…

When my grandma is dying, I shut all doors and windows. I used to believe that by shutting all access to air, the soul of the dying person would stay with the body. Then the person won't die.

I used to hold my breath everytime we drove past a cemetary because if you breathed the bodies would be able to absorb your oxygen and then turn into zombies. Needless to say, if we passed a particularly large cemetary I would be quite purple by the time it was 'safe'. I admit, even now, I sometimes still hold my breath when I pass a cemetary!

I used to believe when you die after 7 days, you'll come back home to see family and eat your favourite food.

I BELIEVED WHEN I WAS YOUNG, WHEN A BABY WAS BORN SOMEONE OLDER HAD TO DIE.

i used to think that death was only temporary, but when i was 4 i realized that i would die eventually and i wouldn't come back to life, because of the line in the song "Puff the Magic Dragon" ---- "dragons live forever, but not so little boys" (even though i'm a girl). I couldn't sleep because i was imagining all my stuffed animals living forever when i die.

I used to believe…

when i was born i found my parents keeping cattle, ship, goats, horses and dogs and i believed that i have to die so that i could have my own farm in heaven with our dead animals.

I used to believe…

When I was alot younger than now and went to the Saturday morning cinema, I thought that all the cowboys and indians who were shot in the films were prisoners who were sentenced to death. No one had explained about stuntmen and blank bullets!

I used to believe…

When I was little I thought that you could die inside, or you would bump your head when your spirit ascended. My mom wasn't sure what to tell me about this, since she thought I probably felt pretty safe inside.

I used to believe…

When I was I kid, I wondered how they managed to show so many people get kill in the movies. I had heard that some people committed suicide, putting an end to their lives privately. Quite sensibly, as an imaginative child, I used to believe that film makers would set out to the goomier parts of the city to set up a stand or roam with big signs recruiting suicidal individuals to participate in their upcoming movie, so that they may be killed before the camera during a scene and to the great enjoyment of future movie audiences.

I used to believe that my old grandmother had a long life and was still alive because she had also forgotten to die due to forgetfulness brought about by old age. This was long ago before I knew the term, "Alzheimer's Disease"

I used to believe that 'prosecuted' meant the same as 'exterminated', so the signs on the wall of our local cricket ground; 'Trespassers will be prosecuted' scared me to death. I thought there were daleks in there...

When I was small, my Dad told us many stories about his childhood. He had lived near a big forest, so the stories usually involved woodland animals. One of them involved a blackbird flying into the kitchen window (i.e. it hit the window and bounced off), and my Grandpa reviving it with brandy.

Fast forward to the day I was about 11, and a pigeon flew into my bedroom window and knocked itself out. Remembering the brandy story I ran to the drinks cabinet - unfortunately there was no brandy, but there was some vodka, so I force-fed the pigeon quite a lot of that.

It did not wake up.

(Other stories involved newt royalty and a squirrell getting a firework up the arse. It wasn't until adulthood I realised they were mostly made-up.)
