When I was 2 years old my pet fish died. I was so sad and then I got angry when my mom flushed him. I was so upset that she told me he went to fishy heaven which was a big lake by our house. Every time we crossed the lake I would look out the car window and say how much i missed the fish. One day my mom started talking in a high pitched voice and I thought it was my fish so I talked back. I actually believed that I was talking to the fish for years!

When my mother first explained murder to me I didn't understand.
I already knew what to kill something meant, but when I asked my mother what the word "murder" meant she used the term "To take someone's life,"
I instantly thought that meant that murderers would kill people, take the insides out of their bodies, put their skin on like clothes and pretend to be them. Thus "taking" someone's life.
I was a little cautious around some people after that just in case they had been "murdered".

When my great grandfather died I was about 4 or 5. My family never attened curch before so I didn't exactly know how to pray. So I am told I 'taguht' my younger cousins how to pray. I had told them to put thier hands together and spin around in circles and speak loudly. We had done this right in front of his coffin. I really didn't know what death was at the time. I thought he was asleep and we were trying to wake him up. I feel really bad about that now.

When I was younger my sister who was 6 years older than me used to drag me across my lawn towards sun rays that come down through the clouds, she told me that they were rays from heaven and that if you go under one you would be sucked up to heaven. She use to tell me i'd never see my parents again, so i would start crying thinking i was going to die! I believed her for the longest time too!

I used to believe, that there was a special garden somewhere, like near a beach. It wasn't really a "garden" it was like that soil though. And that if you stepped in the garden, a devil lady would come up of the ground and pull you beneath the surface, and you would die, unless this other lady, that looked exactly like her, would come and save you. (I thought this whole thing up so what comes next will seem weird.) I used to have dreams about mistaking the hero lady for the devil lady, and she would pull beneath the ground, but once she got down everything but the head, I would wake up sweating. It was a REALLY scary thing to think of.

When my dad and uncle went duck hunting, they'd always clean the ducks themselves. I went outside one day, and I saw the dead ducks just laying there. I picked one up, and for some reason I thought it was talking to me. I made myself think it said it loved me (Even though it was dead...and a duck) then I set it down and ran back to the house. when I got to the stairs, I turned around and I made myself think I could hear it say "I'll always love you!" so then I cried for a long while...Yeah, I have a horribly overactive head.

For the longest time I couldn't figure out why everyone, was so concerned with the 'youth in asia'. Through inference I realized that the 'youth in asia' had something to do with killing people. I immediately adopted a position of anti-youth in asia. Until one day when my mother heard this statement and through her tears of laughter explain that 'youth in asia' was euthanasia.

I had a pet fish named Zim, and as I was going to bed one night, I noticed he was belly-up at the bottom of the tank and not moving. I went to bed a little sad that he'd died. The next morning, I saw a fish that looked exactly like my Zim floating around and I believed that Zim had just fallen a little too deeply asleep the night before, and that's why he'd sunk.
What's a little sad is I was 14 at the time.

I lived near a graveyard when I was young, and on some of the gravestones it just said R.I.P. I just read it as the word 'RIP', and so I thought that this meant they were killed by Jack the Ripper. When my nana died, her headstone had R.I.P on it. My parents hadn't told me she'd died of cancer, and I began yelling, 'But why would Jack the Ripper kill Nana?'

When I was in sunday school, and we learned about heaven I didn't believe in it. I was skeptic, so I told my friend to kill me, so when I died, God would say, "You were meant to die 100 years from now! Let's go back!"

But while I sat in the box waiting to suffocate the sunday school teacher saw what we were up to. Rats. Still skeptic up to this day.

when i was about 5 my mom wanted to blow-dry my hair after my bath one evening. i was really stubborn and i wouldn't let her so she told me that people who go to bed with wet hair die. immediately, i let her dry my hair. i had a hard time going to sleep that night because of what she told me so i felt my hair just to make sure i was safe. i had 1 tiny spot of moisture in my hair and i thought i was going to die. i spent the next 20-30 minutes sobbing and saying good-night to everything in my room until my parents came in and my mom admitted to telling my a lie.
