When I was about six or seven, and my mother came back from bringing my dog to the veternarians office, I could see that she seemed pretty sad. However, when she told me that my dog had to be put to sleep, I thought she meant that my dog was literally sleeping there, and we'd have to pick her up in the morning. I was so sad when she said that it meant she was never coming back.
I used to beleve when my fish died that if you flushed them down the loo they would come back to life and live in the sea for the rest of its life or get eaten!!1

When i was 4, my uncle owned a farm where i spent weekends playing. One day i went to the pig pen only to find it empty? When i asked my uncle where the pigs had gone, he told me they had gone skiing and they would be back soon. Sure enough, each time the same thing happened and the pigs would return from skiing!
Never once did i question it!

A few years ago my dog ran off late at night and my parents went looking for her. I went to bed and wasnt worried because she was obedience trained and wouldnt go far. About 3 months later I noticed I hadnt been seeing her around my house. I wasnt particularly worried because I was really busy with school and she was an outside dog so I though she was outside most of the time I just didnt see her. Then a week later I realized she want at my house or inside my house, so I checked to see if she was at my moms dog grooming/boarding business because sometimes my mom takes her there when she goes to work.....she wasnt there either!! I went up to my mom and asked her where our dog was and she said, "What are you talking about, she's dead?" I then realized that all the times I thought she was either at my moms shop or outside when I happened to be home she really just wasnt anywhere. My mom told me she had been hit by a car that night, but I had fallen asleep so they didnt tell me and when I woke up she wasnt home so they figured I knew what had happenedand jsut didnt want to talk. I felt so bad because I had been busy with school and ignoring her!!! :(
When I was 8, my best friend's mom died. Two years later, my guinea pig, Cuddles, also died. The next night, my mom took me outside and told me that whenever someone dies, they become a star. She asked me which star was Cuddles and I pointed to one and said "That one." She looked closer and asked "Which one?" I was pointing to two stars next to each other and I said "That one. Right next to Brenna's mommy."
When I was three, I had a dog named Penny. She died of cancer and, since I was so young, my mother didn't have the heart to tell me. So she said that Penny went to live in a place where there were lots of other dogs and people to take care of them. I asked her if we could go visit Penny and she said maybe someday.
Years later, when I was 14, I was sitting in the car at the gas station while my mom filled up the tank when suddenly, Penny came to my mind. I thjought about why we had never gone to visit her when I was younger and only at that moment did I realize that she was dead. I cried for hours.
When I was really young my brother told me to quickly run inside if I ever saw a vulture because it would swoop down and feed me to its young if it saw me.
When i was younger (2 or 3) i had a fish called FiFi, he was my first pet and eventually we got him a brother who angrily took a bite out of FiFi! I was very angry and was so upset if i had a younger brother he would do the same to me! Anyway FiFi died from his horrific injury but being so naive my mum told me a man had taken him away whilst we were on holiday and that he was in the caribbean i only found out JUST THIS MINUTE that this story was infact untrue!

When i was about four or five i saw a rabbit sitting on a roundabout in the city. I belived up until my early teens that when rabbits went down burrows, they came to roundabouts which acted as saftey islands set up by the council so foxes couldn't eat them.
Whenever i saw a dead rabbit i told my dad to rite to the council. He never knew why
My parents told me when I was about 5 that roadkill animals weren't dead, they were actually sleeping. I believed this until I was about 10.
