When I was about 7 I went up Blackpool Tower with my mum and dad and asked what would happen if you threw yourself off the top. My dad said you would end up on the street below as jam. For years I thought you actually turned into jam somehow on the way down. I feel really stupid now for ever thinking this.

My daughter plays alot of a game called Ratchet and Clank(I mean the whole series she is crazy about it) and in there if you get killed ratchet spins around and falls down. My daughter believes that when people die they all spin around and fall down. She still doesn't believe me when I say they don't
My great-grandmother (age 97) was the first funeral that I went to. It was open casket, and it smelled terrible. I thought it was the body! It wasn't until they brought all the flowers back to the house that I realized it was the daisies.
once when i was at my uncle's funeral (he'd died very suddenly) and the minister opened up the sermon with, "we can't even really believe he's dead..." my brother got really freaked out and turned to my parents, worriedly asking, "wait...we don't know he's dead??" he thought we might be burying him alive!!!

My grandpa died when I was very young, and I went with my mom and grandma to the funeral parlor. The funeral director asked my grandma if she wanted baby’s breath for the coffin. I thought this was some type of air supply that was being built into the coffin that would allow him to take very small breaths and part of me feared that we were burying him alive.
i used to belive that when someone in your family dies, that they can watch your from heaven
(or else were) and they can see everything you do. liek showers, and baths, and other things. i still wonder about it now and im 13.
i also used to belive that when u die god would make you watch a video tape of your life from birth to when u died, and he wouls lecture you about things u did wrong.
When I was a child I used to be scared to say the part of the night time prayer, "Now I lay me down to sleep", that went "If I should die before I awake, I pray the Lord my soul to take." I used to believe that was sort of telling God I didnt mind dying in my sleep. So I would never, ever say it.
When my grade 2 teacher, Mrs. McDonald retired, I was convinced that it meant she was old and would die soon. I spent the rest of the summer looking for her name in the obituaries everyday.

my cousin, when he was about 4 years old, used to think that the big gravestones with the crusifix on them, people were standing up in them!
I used to believe that when you died, you went into an endless and dreamless sleep.
I used to believe that a person could die within a day if they swallowed ink from a pen. One day, I thought I was a goner when, while biting the end of an ink pen stick, the ink spilled into my mouth and covered my tongue, teeth and gums. I ran into the kitchen screaming, "HELP ME, MOMMY!! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!" while crying the biggest tears ever. She was shocked at first because everything in my mouth was blue, but she quickly acted and started rinsing my mouth. Later that day, I noticed her talking to my father and they both were laughing. It wasn't until years later that I learned they had been laughing about me and the ink.
when i was about 3 years old my mother took me with her to the funeral of one of her best friends who was killed in a car wreck. well my mom was holding me in her arms with me on her hip and we were looking at her friend in the casket. I didn't know that she was a dead woman and i asked my mom "mommy.... is that a doll?" I thought it was a life size barbie doll or something. haha. i still remember it to this day
When we were kids, my sister thought that when a person died, their soul was their set of ribs that sprouted wings and headed heavenward. lol
When I was 3 I believeed you can only die on your brithday.
Somewhere between the ages of 4 and 6, I linked the concept of my Grandfather's death (he died before I was born) and the fact that dead people were gone forever. I had heard people say that Grandpa "died young" (in his mid-40's, but I didn't know that) so I started to worry that I was going to die soon and wonder what sign I would have that it was going to happen.
Somehow I determined that if you pooped and peed at the same time, that meant you were going to die. A small bout of diarhea scared the hell out of me!
My ex boyfriend believed that you should not have a shower after eating because his uncle ate 3 fried eggs and then drowned in the sea!!! He is 27 years old
After watching Return of the Jedi, I belived that whenever you died you just dissapeared.

My father's mother died when I was little. She was a rowdy opinonated German woman who drank a lot of beer. She scared me most of the time because of her loud voice. When she died, people at the funeral kept telling me, "Even though you can't see her, she'll always be looking after you."
I thought that was terrible. I felt like I could never do anything in private because of that. I used to sneak cans of beer up to my room, and leave them on the windowsill, hoping they would distract her while I played with my dolls.

Whenever I was bad, my mom would ask, "Do you want a spanking?!" I thought a "spanking" was when she and I would wear ninja suits and have a swordfight to the death. Since I didn't want to die that way, I always said no.
I used to believe dead people moved us around and made us do silly and stupid things.
