I saw in a magazines that was lying around the house, and it was talking about how any of us could die at anytime. And one of the lines read something like "You could die today at 1 o'clock" or something like that. But cause I was so young I took it literally. I actually believed that I was going to die at 1 o'clock that day.
I ran around all my family and friends bawling in my eyes out saying my "goodbyes" to everyone. People thought that there was something seriously wrong with my head. I'm 18 now and I still get teasted by my family about it.
I told my cousin's kid (5 years old) that if he made one of his eyes look into his other eye in the bathroom mirror that that night when he fell asleep he would die and go straight to hell and nothing could stop it. He tried it and got REALLY scared. He was up almost 2 days! ( I was about 26 when i did this but my cousin used to torture me when I was little so were even now)
when i was a kid, my dad told me if i stepped on a needle, it would go through my veins and pop my heart. i believed it till i was an adult!
i used to believe that when you died you would come back as an animal because i saw the film 'fluke'
i used to believe that when you died you would come back as a baby again.
I use to think people would only die on their birthday when they became a certain age, but then my grandpa died of cancer. . .
When i was younger i was always really afraid of those 3 letters R.I.P. I didn't figure out what they meant until I was 20 something. But whenever I saw those letters i knew there was nothing good about them!
When I was young, I honestly believed that I would die before I reached high school.

When I was little, I used to believe that people died from gun shots and deep wounds because the wound was just big enough for the person's soul to get out and fly away. Because of that belief, I had a phobia of getting hurt or cut since 5th grade in fear that my soul might fly away.
When I was little, I believed that when you died, you came back to earth as another person, except you were in a higher order, until you had to start all over again when you couldn't go any higher. So sometimes, when I was listening to my Britney Spears CD, I'd yell "I WAS HER NOT TOO LONG AGO!"
I still believe this. Hopefully I'll get to be as rich as Donald Trump with Carmen Elecktra's looks one day :)
when i was younger i used to belief that when you died you would come back to haunt the people that made fun of you or just did really mean things to other people and later that next day they would die the same way you did
when i was yunger i thought that if you ate vegtables you will die because my friend died (because of a heartattack) one hour after she ate vegtables
When I was 5 I used to think that a will was a list of things that you could put in your coffin once you were dead. My will consisted of, amongst other things, my doll Mary!

When my son was 5 years old, his great uncle died. I told him we were going to "a wake" for Uncle Steve. Naturally when we arrived at the funeral home, my son was very upset when he couldn't "awake" Uncle Steve. It was very, very sad.
When I was 4 my dad died. In trying to explain what death was my granny told me it's like going to sleep and never waking up. I thought if I went to sleep he would come get me and then I'd never wake up either.
I'm 37 and I'm still afraid to sleep.

I thought dead people were buried in laundry baskets. My mom's Daddy Ted died of cancer when I was four. My mother was trying to explain what we did with the dead. In her explanation of putting people in the ground she mentioned the casket, I thought she said basket. So for many years I thought her Daddy Ted was curled up in the ground in a laundry basket.
