When my brothers and I used to play as kids and one of us got shot we would play dead with our arms out streached and our feet crossed. We grew up catholic and the only dead person we had ever seen was Jesus on the cross.

I was about 6 when my great-grandpa died, but wasn't allowed to go to the funeral. Somehow I came to the conclusion that they must be stringing up the corpse and making it dance around like a marionette. When I saw this happen with Mr. Burns on the Simpsons last year, I almost injured myself from laughing so hard.

I was five when my grandmother died. My mom told me she would be cremated. I asked what that meant. She told me they would put her in an oven until she was burned to dust. I was horrified by the image of how they would have to chop her up in order to fit her body into a kitchen oven.

"When you are rich this time then the next time you will born as a poor person and vice versa"
and i dont know what will happen to the people like me , since I born in moddle class family

When I was a kid, I used to believe people died once they were over 21.

Pleased my mother for years though, because I refused to believe she was older than 21, even though she had turned 40! :)

I used to believe that when people died they went to Devon. A neighbour told me my grandad had gone to Heaven and I didn't know whwere that was but we went on holiday to Devon every year so it made sense.

When our pet bird died I saw a cloud shaped like a bird. The same thing happened with my dog, so I thought you became a cloud when you died.

I used to think that funeral homes fulfilled the same function as nursing homes, only they has a much less euphemistic name.

I used to believe that if you counted the number of cars in a funeral procession that someone in your family would soon die.

As a Methodist child I learned that people were sent to be angels when they died. (My nan's dog became an angel-dog too.)
So when I saw paintings and statues of cherubs and Eros, I found them disturbing because to me they were dead babies and children- very spooky indeed.

I had heard the story of the creation at Sunday School and how God took a rib from Adam to create Eve. My Grandad died soon after and by coincidence a new baby was born in the family about the same time, so I was convinced that God had been taking ribs out of Grandad and he died when he ran out of ribs!

When I was little, I heard my Dad say that someone would probably die at the weekend. I didn't know what a weekend was, so from then on, I assumed that the 'weekend' was when we were all going to die. I could never understand it when my mum would tell me that we were going to do something at the weekend, because I assumed we would all be dead. I believed this for years.

i used to believe that if you walked past a funeral parlour or a church when a funeral was going on, you had to hold your breath and cross your fingers or you would die with a red cross on your hand. The end.

when i was about 7 my parents went to a funeral. i asked my mom how the person died. she told me that he threw up in his sleep and choked to death. i was terrified to sleep after this and for years everytime i felt sick to my stomach i was certain i wouldn't make it through the night.

i used to believe that you had to eat a ton of earth on your death bed as my dad told me so, what he actually meant was that this is a gradual process that happens over your entire life time!

when i was around 4 i used to see the face of my mom's dad who had passed away when i was just a baby. i would see his face while we were driving in the car in the faint blueness of the mountains in the distance. i remember feeling peaceful...like he was looking after us.
