I used to believe that when you died no matter what your tongue hung out the side of your mouth.
When I was a kid, I'd heard somewhere the statistics regarding the number of deaths that occur in the world each minute. When there were major disasters or accidents with a high number of casualties, I believed that God was napping or distracted, and had to do something big to catch up to the statistic.
I used to think that when people had heart attacks someone came and stabbed their heart
up until i was 4-5years old, every time i watched a murder movie i always thought they were actually killing the people.
I used to beleave when a person sed "folow your'e heart" it ment that when someone dies, there heart jumps out of them and they folow it to Heaven!I stoped beleaveing that when I was 7.I'm 9 now.
One day on a field trip our bus was passing the cemetary and my friend told me to quikly hold my breath. I did and after we passed it I asked her why we had done that. She said that if you didn't hold your breath when passing a graveyard, then a ghost could fly up your nose! O_O
I used to think that memorial sites on the side of roads were graves, and their family buried them there because that's where they were run over and died
I used to think dead people are dangerous.
When I was about 4 or 5 my great granmother died. I was sad because I didnt get to go to her memorial. I thought it was a party..
I used to believe that if you got soap in your mouth you would get really sick and could possibly die. This belief started because I went to go feed my rabbit one evening when I was six or so. My mom told me to wash out his water dish really well with soap, but to be sure that I rinsed it out well too. She told me to be sure that there was no soap in the dish when I gave it to the rabbit. I asked why and she said that it would make him very sick and that he could die. Needless to say I was very careful when rinsing out the water bowl. Later that night I was taking a shower and I got soap in my mouth (I guess I wasn't being careful enough then) I screamed and screamed for my mother, and when she came in frantic and I told her what was wrong, she explained to me as best she could that it was the rabbit's delicate system that would cause the problem, and that I had no reason to worry...
To this day I still HATE getting soap in my mouth, More that anyone else that I know of... and I am super careful...
My 5 year old was really upset and concerned about dying. I told her that she had to be 90 to die and that she had a long way to go. A few months later, I had to go to a funeral. When I told her where I was going, she said oh, they were 90?
i was always scared that when i saw the dead person in their cascet at the funeral, they were going to smile at me , but no one else could see the person, just me!
until the age of 12, i used to believe that dead bodies come alive at night after everybody has slept.so i was afraid to go out at night after 9.00pm.
When watching movies or TV shows, I used to believe that when they 'found a body in the park', there was never a head attached.
every time i saw the sun shining through the clouds, i thought it was a person going to heaven, which meant lots of people died in the same places at the same time.
The old vicar of our parish church is buried near the boundary of the churchyard - you can see the grave clearly from the road. At primary school, many of us believed that if you went to the churchyard at midnight on the anniversary of his death and said the right words (unfortunately for amusement purposes I cannot now remember them) you would see his ghost fall from the top of the church spire and into his grave.
I don't know where we got the idea he had topped himself by jumping off the spire, but many of us believed this for years. It was only as a teenager that my parents disabused me of this notion.
I used to think that when there were going to be people who died in a movie, the producers held a meeting of people who wanted to die in real life and then chose someone to cast in the movie and that person actually died.
when i was 4 my grandpa died & when i asked my mom why ,she said from a bad stomach ache... so everytime i had a stomach ache i thought i was going to die and i would cry for hours & lay in bed & prepare to die.. this went on until i was about 10
When my son was four a very loved neighbor passed away. I sat David down on the porch to tell him about Grampa Bob. I looked into his little face and told him but he did not understand. So I asked him if he remembered when his goldfish died? He got this terrible look on his face and asked me how Grampa Bob would fit down the toilet!
when i was younger my dad told me that if you walked over a grave the dead body would reach out and grab your leg and drag you down into the ground
