Well, I began reading when I was little, and I was anemic, so I had to eat food that was high in iron and protein. One day, my parents gave me a pack of M&M's as a treat. I was reading the nutrition facts. When I saw that the M&M's had 2 grams of protein, I jumped in my seat and said "M&M'S HAVE PROTEIN! THEY'RE HEALTHY FOOD!" Then I was at my grandma's house, where she was going to make a "healthy dinner". When I got my plate full of steamed carrots and broccoli, I asked innocently "Where are the M&M's?"

When I was young my parents gave me my first bit of cotton candy at a circus. They explained what it was, and I cried because I didn't want to eat it. I thought they were trying to feed me balled up tissues, for some reason.

My mother still denies this but when I was about 4 or 5 I asked her where hotdogs came from. She said that it was gross & if she told me I wouldn't want to eat them anymore. I said that was silly. I already liked them, I didn't care where they came from. I even ate them cold right out of the fridge. She told me they were cow udders. It was years before I'd eat hotdogs again. Now they only way I can stomach them is if they are grilled & VERY done ie. blackened a bit.

When I was little I always thought that when someone quit drinking, they litterally "quit drinking" everything. I could not for the life of me understand why someone would want to do that.

I used to believe that the meat was meat, and muscle was something different. When I found out that I was eating animal muscle, I was kind of grossed out for awhile.

Sometimes you get the burned rice krispy in with your bowl of cereal. As a young child, I was always worried that it was not a burned rice puff but, in fact, a booger which had fallen out of my nose.
I would inspect each bite to make sure I was not eating this booger. Often times, I could not find the "booger" when I was done eating, making me feel sick knowing that I had most likely eaten it.

When I was about 6 years old, I was eating a pop-ice (a cheap brand of popsicle) in front of my 18 year old brother. My brother proceeded to tell my Father (in front of me) a story about a kid in Tennessee who ate one of those pop-ices and drank a 20 ounce bottle of Pepsi and his stomach exploded.
I believed that story until about 5 years later.

When I was little, I used to think that white cows made white milk, and brown cows made chocolate milk.
I really believed that Lifesavers candy would save your life. When I was 6, my 4 year-old brother was diagnosed with kdney cancer. When he died a month later, I could not understand why my parents hadn't just given him a Lifesaver. When I found out that it was just candy, I never ate a Lifesaver again.

When I was little, I saw the fruit gushers commercials; it showed kids eating gushers and there heads turning into the fruit flavor that they ate. I was so scared of eating gushers but one day my mom brought them along to a playground. When I ate one I was releaved to see that my head had not turned into a fruit!

Me and my friend used to believe that if you twisted the top off an oreo cookie, and a little bit of creme fell on the ground, that the streets would flood with oreo cream just like on that old commercial. We would sit on her front porch, eating oreos and twisting the tops off, and when a bit of creme fell on the ground we would look at eachother and say "aww!!"
I used to be very afraid of asking for licorice to eat. This is because the way I'd always heard it pronounced sounded like "liquor-ish". I thought therefore it had liquor in it, or at least had some connection with liquor. So I thought I'd be perceived as a very bad girl to want something containing or in any way connected with liquor.

Ok, up until I was like 14 or 15 I believed that spam was whale meat. It was only when Mum and I were shopping and we came into the aisle and I said "I don't think they should be allowed to sell whale meat, aren't they protected species?" My mum burst out laughing and didn't stop until we got home, then she told everyone and they still laugh at me if it comes up in conversation.
