Still to this day, I don't blow bubbles, and if I see somone else blowing one, even a really tiny one, I cringe and cover my face. And I'm 23 in two months!!!

It is a very common belief held by many in Northern Ireland, including myself, when younger, that corned beef was made from Argentinian horses. For those of you from NI reading this. THIS IS NOT TRUE. I had to explain this to my 25 year old wife just the other day.........

For some reason, I always thought baked beans were "bacon beans." I think I just called them that one day, and my family stuck with calling it that, because they thought it was cute. So, when I'd be in the lunch line in school and ask for "bacon beans", I never got what was so funny. It took a very long time for me to realize I was using the wrong word.

When my brothers and I were younger, my mother used to tell us to eat all our dinner because there were children in Ethiopia that were starving. After my mom left the kitchen, I would throw half of my meal in the trash so when the homeless people rummaged through the trash, they would have something to eat. I thought I was single handedly feeding the population of Ethiopia.

I remember when my parents told me that McDonalds used nightcrawlers (worms) to make the meat they used for hamburgers. I believed it totally but for some reason it didn't stop me from eating their Big Mac's. I remember whenever I would bite into it, I would look and examine the meat in the hamburger I was eating.
Even though I was grossed out by the thought of ground up worms in my hamburger patty, I think the good taste prevailed.

I used to believe that if you ate chocolate gold coins, gold would come out your ears. I thought this because my father would tell me he can hear me when I'm trying to go eat them. This, of course, scared me.

I used to think that if a cow mooed while having the milk extracted from it the noise would be stored in the carton of milk. When the unsuspecting customer opened his newly bought carton of milk, the noise would erupt out of it and transport the cow into the room through the carton. I was always afraid of opening the new milk just in case...
Next time, be careful. It could happen to YOU!

When I had scrapes and cuts, my mom would sometimes clean them with rubbing alcohol. When I got into elementary school, they'd tell us that alcohol is bad and that you shouldn't drink it. So I sniffed the bottle of rubbing alcohol one day and I couldn't imagine anyone actually drinking that stuff.
