I thought that Dr Pepper contained actual Pepper. Even now just thinking about Dr Pepper makes me want to sneeze, and I could swear that if you smell it you can get a hint of pepper in there.

When I was 4, my sister said dog poop was mushrooms... I believed it. One day when I was walking on the sidewalk with my parents, I was hungry, so I picked up a chunk of dog poop and ate it. After I tasted it, I vomited all over the sidewalk. I remember saying to my parents "I don't like mushrooms!!" My parents were pissing themselves laughing!!

When I was a child, my father told me Kentucky Fried Chicken would keep the chickens in the revolving bucket. It made sense: there was a large hatch under the bucket that -- obvious to me at age 5 -- was used to retreive the birds. Why did the bucket spin? So it would make the chickens dizzy and easy to catch if they tried to escape.

When I was little my parents told me to eat my crust because then my hair would turn curly. I didn't want curly hair. And after I realized my brother and dad both ate their crusts and had curly hair I believed them and stop eating crust. Now I'm 20 and am just starting to eat the crust, trying to break the habit.

You remember those fruit candies called Gushers, the ones where on the commercial the head of anyone who ate them would turn into a fruit? I used to think that if I ate one my head would turn into a fruit. I refused to eat any until I actually saw someone who ate one and their head stayed the same when I was 7.

I can vaguely remember arguing with a kid in elementary school who thought that hot dogs were made from raccoons. I'm glad I can remember a story where I was not the stupid one.

This is from an old friend of mine. When her oldest brother was little, he was crying at school all day, and his mom had to come to the school to see what was wrong.

He had seen the "Cream of Wheat" commercial where the cereal stayed with you all day, and a cartoon of the cereal bowl followed you all over.

He was upset because the cereal didn't follow him to school.

When I was little, my grandmother used to be a great cook. Anytime I would eat any of her cooking, I always commented on how good it was. She always said "This is from scratch" For years, I thought "scratch" was a person. I always asked who Scratch was. When I was around 6 or 7, I finally realized that she meant scratch was another term for homemade.

when i was about 7 years old, I used to believe that all the food i was eating was actually alive. I'd find it very hard to eat anything, and my mum would make me so I would chew my food very carefully so as not to hurt it too much!
i felt very guilty about the poor potatoes being crushed- the irony is im not even vegetarian!!

When I was younger I was always told that milk is very good for my teeth. So I'd drink a lot of fresh milk, but not in the usual way.......I used to take a sip then swish it around my mouth like mouthwash, making sure to reach every little bit of my mouth. Then when it was warm , I'd swallow it. I thought that this was the only way my teeth could get the "goodness" from the milk! The milk came straight from the fridge too, so I'd always get a brain freeze!!! DOH! :-)

One time I was waiting at the doctor's office with my mum and I saw an old lady with a very bent back. I asked my mum what happened to her, and she said, "She didn't drink her milk." After that, I thought that I had to drink a lot of milk, other wise I would get osteoporosis. I always had to have at least five glasses a day, or I would panic and start looking at my back in the mirror to see if if was okay.

When I was about 4, I met one of my parent's friends who happened to be an old lady who wore false teeth. She had made meatballs for dinner and for some reason she took out her teeth and told me that she had lost all her real ones from eating too many meatballs. For years not one meatball touched my mouth.

When I was about 5, my older brother told me that Kiwi fruits were actually cute little animals that were curled up tight like a hedgehog.
When we went to the grocer a while later, I managed to get a hold of a kiwi and tried to pry it open so that I could play with it.
Needless to say, it just broke open...but I was absolutey horrified! I started screaming and shreiking and causing a huge rukus. When my mom came sprinting over to see what had happened, I started sobbing about how I had "killed the poor kiwi".

I was inconsolable for hours!

I use to think that the sauce on pizza was blood, and the cheese was skin. So when we went to a pizza plac, my dad would as me what I thaught about the sauce, and I would always say "The blood is a little to sweet." Hahaha, yeah I was so stupid. And then you wonder why would I eat blood, or skin?
