When I was in grade school, there would always be two choices for lunch. The first choice is what most of the kids would order. I'd usually be the only kid that would order 2nd choice. The only reason I did was because I thought the lunch ladies would be sad if no one ordered the 2nd choice.

When I was in kindergarten we had little cartons of milk every day at snack time. I would sit and drink my milk and read the side of the carton, which listed all the products made by that company, including chocolate milk, buttermilk, etc.

I thought the list was actually the ingredients of what I was drinking, that it was a mixture of all those things, and was convinced that I could taste the butter and the chocolate in my milk!

Everyone was naming their favorite foods but I was still convinced that they were eating actual dishes and when she came around to me, I said how can you eat a dish?! The teacher thought I was being a smartass and gave me such a mean look along with meaner explanation, she almost spit the words at me. She made me feel like such a fool!

When I was little, my parents would take me to Dairy Queen as a special treat. I would look at the pictures of the sundaes and other fancy treats and want one. My mother told me that those were just pictures to look at, that Dairy Queen really only sold ice cream cone. Sad thing is, I actually believed her for years. When I saw other people with sundaes, she told me that at Dairy Queen the sundaes were made with broccoli and spinach and that they were nasty and I wouldn't like them. I believed her for several years. Would my mom lie to me?
