When I was younger, my older cousins tricked me into believing that you can make ice cream by turning a "big wheel" tricycle upside down, spinning the big wheel, and yelling "ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM!". Very odd indeed.

Thanks to cereal commercials, I used to think every time I took a bite of Cocoa Puffs I would go "coo coo" like the kids in the commercial. The same thing went for Frosted Flakes when they had commercials showing kids trying to achieve different athletic obstacles. Unfortunately, after all that cereal I was still bad at softball!

I used to my mom was saying "girl-cheese" sandwiches instead of "grilled cheese" sandwiches. I could never understand why there wasn't "boy-cheese" sandwiches!

I used to love milk, and I asked my mom where it came from, and she told me it came from cows, so I yelled "EWWW!" thinking I was drinking cow pee. I didnt drink it for about 2 months, until I went to a farm and they showed a guy milking a cow.

I used to think Smarties would really make you smart, so I would eat them all the time, only to find out they just gave me tooth aches.

After hearing the myth that toast always lands butter side down, I thought it would act like a magnet so if you tried to put the un-buttered side on the floor, it would push away. When I asked my mother if I could try it, she told me not to because it was a waste of bread.

My farther told my brother and i that when you eat a doughnut (the kind with loads of sugar on) you wern't aloud to lick your lips or fingers untill you where finished! he would then delight it watching us try accomplish this!
(it's even harder than it sounds)

i used to believe that was a meat called 'coney'. My nan told me i was eating coney stew....but infact it was rabbit.

I used to believe my farther when he told me that if i didn't wear my shoes and socks all the time, the peas and carrots i had for lunch would come out of my toes!

My husband believed (up until I set him straight) that Creamsicles were disgusting, because there was sour cream in the middle.

My mother has an irrational hatred of bubblegum/chewing gum so I was brought up to believe that it was bad and the old story that if you swallow it, you'll basically die. So one day as I was taking my life in my hands, chewing some gum, it accidentally flew out of my mouth, rolled across the ground and was quickly eaten by a Jack Russell terrier, I panicked and ran off. For years I carried around the guilt of being a dog killer and I could never tell anyone because I was so ashamed. The thing is, I am still not 100% sure the dog did survive the incident, though I am pretty sure it would take more than that to kill a dog, wouldn’t it?

At some point when I was young my Dad explained to me that if you ever ate a sesame seed it would get to your intestines and poke a hole and escape. It would then travel all around your body, until one day it would pop out through your skin. Any time I went to McDonalds I always had to make sure I ordered the "Hamburger Without Seeds", or else I would have to spend a good amount of time picking off all of the seed while evey one else was happly enjoying their burgers ( I never seemed to worry about other people eating them). I would inspect the backs of my hands to make sure the seeds weren't coming out, for some reasonthat were I thought they exited.

It was only when I was about 20 that I realized one day that seseme seeds couldn't possibly do that! Thanks Dad, for a good 15 years of sesame seed fear :)

I used to believe that lemon limes where real. Yellow on one side and green on the other. (from the sprite comercials).

When I was about five or six years old, my mom was baking something in the kitchen that used sugar. I asked for some sugar so I could eat it, and she explained that if you eat plain sugar, you'll get worms in your stomach. I believed this for many years, probably until I was at least 11 or 12.

I used to believe that, like the commercial, if I squeezed a handful of peanuts, they would turn into a Snickers Bar.

My dad told me that hot dogs were really monkey weiners, and that's why they had a hole at the end. I didn't think as to why it had a hole on the OTHER end, though...
