When i was younger i used to beleive that if you swallowed apple seeds an apple tree would grow out the top of your head. So naturally i avoided swallowing them at all costs. However One day i was riding my bike while eating a plum and fell of my bike and swallow the pip that i had been chewing on to get those last little bits off. For Weeks i was terrified i was going to get a plum tree grow out my head :|

When I was about 10, I was drinking the last can of Coke. I wanted some more, so I took a Pepsi that was in the refrigerator since it's pretty much the same. My dad, not wanting me to drink anymore, told me that if I drank Coke and Pepsi together, it would bubble up into my lungs and I'd suffocate and most likely die. She told me that the reason they had the Coke and Pepsi at opposite ends of the isle in the store was so if they were to spill it wouldn't explode. I believed this for about three years. My friends all thought I was nuts when I would ever so daringly get a cup of each, spill them on top of each other while outside, and run like a mad woman.

I used to believe that those little coloured tablets included with Easter egg dying kits were candy, so for several years in a row I ate them and never figrued out that they were the dyes for the eggs! My mother finally discovered my mistake when she saw that my mouth and lips were deep blue one year! Ever try to get that stuff off? The neighborhood must have heard my howls as mom scrubbed like crazy!

When I was a small child I lived in New Jersey, but travled two to three times a year to visit family in West Virginia.

Well if you know anything about regional words, you might know that some areas call soft drinks pop and others soda. New Jersey it's Soda, West Virginia it's Pop.

Until I was about five I believed that soda was brown (Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Etc.) and pop was "colored" (Orange, Grape, Peach, etc). All because at home I was given dark pop's and while visiting family I was given light pop.

I've since overcome my confusion and now everything is pop.

When I was very small I used to believe that coloured things tasted like they looked. If something was yellow, it was lemon-flavoured, if it was purple, it was grape flavoured, etc. I was always trying out the "flavours" of things and was obviously very disappointed in most of them. Wrapping paper was the biggest disappointment, as it looked so yummy in all those bright colours!

when I was a kid my sister told me that the tacos in jack in the box were made of ostrich, so i had to decide between my favorite tacos or my favorite bird, i decided they are already dead i might as well eat them, i still love those tacos

My sister was such a mean person when we were younger, she'd make up lies to try and scare me. The two that stick with me today is that the chocolate chips in Cookie Crunch are actually maggots, and tapioca pudding is fish eggs. I can't even look at either of them to this day.

My mother always told me that I had to eat my crusts-she said it was the healthiest part of the bread, and it would make my teeth stronger. The other day I was about to tell my little girl to eat her crusts-and then I remembered what my mother had told me when I was younger-I just realized now that she was just wanting me to eat my crusts!

We believed that if you swallowed gum it would remain in your stomach for 7 years. We also believed this to be true of swallowed finger nails, so I always imagined a place in my stomach full of chewed gum and bitten fingernails!! Glad I know now.....

When I was a child, I truly believed that Chocolate milk came from Brown and Black cows, and white milk came from White and spotted cows. I also was told that Cows that lived in the hills and mountains had to wear boots so they would not fall off the hill...LOL

I used to believe that if I swallowed bubble gum, a bubble gum tree would grow inside of me.

My brother and I use to drink orange squash which was said to contain 5% orange juice. We figured that if we drank 20 glasses of orange squash, it would be as good as eating one orange and therefor very healthy for you. If an apple a day kept the doctor away, why wouldn't the same apply to an orange? Therefor 20 glasses of orange squash would also keep the doctor away! It's obvious, isn't it?!

My father swore that if you ate fish and drank milk, you'd die. We believed him until we would sneak and test out the theory. Obviously it did not work, at least for us. Valdimar
