I used to believe if you ate seeds in fruit a tree would grow out of your tummy button! My sister is such a liar for telling me that one!!!!!
When I was a kid I was told by my Mom that if I didn't go to bed before 10pm Pumpkins would come after me. I really don't know why she said Pumpkins of all things but it still scared me. I always pictured Pumpkin heads rolling up my driveway and into my front door. It scared me enough so that I always went to bed earlier than 10.
when i was in 1st grade, i accidentally checked out a book on the digestive system. I read it, and it told me exactly how you can die from choking. I instantly became paranoid and refused to eat anything that might cause me to "choke". So for almost 2 years, all I ate was canned peaches, cottage cheese, and plain spaghetti noodles. :D
i used to think eyeballs were like made of the same material as hardboiled eggs!!!!!!
and then with actual hardboiled eggs i thought when i would open the middle that a baby bird would be sleeping in it. so i was afraid of eating them, or at least the yolk part for that matter.
I used to call the crust of bread "the bone" and I would tell my Mom "Take the bone off my bread" or if she didn't and I had to I'd set it on my plate and say "I don't want the bone"
when i was young, i used to believe that when i eat orange and accidentally swallowed the pips, the pips would grow in my body and an orange tree would come out of my head and branches out of my mouth.
My father is 50 years old, and is FIRMLY convinced that raisins and prunes grow on trees. I've tried several times to convince him that they're really dried grapes and plums, but with no success.
This one time when i was young at breakfast, I had grabbed the last banana and my older sister wanted it; so she told me that banana's were made of spider legs that molded over after being dead for a while, and that when you cut the banana you could still see the spiders legs. Took me out of eating banana's for almost five years
My stepmother told me when I was younger that the crust on sandwhiches would make my hair grow faster...I swear I had PB&J sandwiches every day for lunch for like, 2 months.
when i was younger, my brother told me that watermelon seeds would grow inside me and turn into a plant and grow out of my mouth. I was worried when i swallowed some
Once when I was little I was at a restaraunt with my family and I was eating chicken. I picked up the chicken with my fork and saw the fork poking out of the other side of the food. Scared, I yelled "Theres a needle in my chicken!" My mom laughed and said "No, Its just your fork!"
as I grew up hated pumpkin and was sick when forced to eat any and could never understand how me leaving any food could possibly get to the starving kids eleswhere in the world .

MY MOM SAID THAT MILK MAKES YOUR TEETH WHITE SO SHE MADE ME DRINK IT
WHEN I WAS YOUNG I THOUGHT THAT MILK WAS THE SAME AS FLOWER I ONLY NOTICED AT SCHOOL WHEN I WAS MAKING COOKIES MISS SAID WHERES YOUR MILK AND I PICKED UP THE FLOUR AND SHE SAID THAT IT WAS FLOWER
When I was 4 or 5 my mom told me that if I ate a peach, there would be a prize at the center for me. At that time I was a picky eater and she claims that I only liked sweets. So she handed me a peach, left for where ever she went, I ate that peach right down to that dirty pit. I still remember my disappointment that I didn't get a prize and I had to eat something I didn't like.
When I was 7 years old, I always ate my crust without any fuss. It was just more bread in my mind. However, my principal, who had long beautiful locks of red hair, said to a friend of mine that her hair was curly because she had always eaten her crusts as a child. This did not win over my friend, but it won me over since I've always had straight, flat hair. Soon I was on a mission to get that curly hair! If a friend didn't eat their crust, I always ate it for them. I also took a liking to the heels of loaves, because, logically, they were all crust. I worked so hard, but to no avail. I still have straight hair, and a taste for the heels.
when i was little, my parents would sometimes make eggs for me for breakfast. it was ok when my mom did it, but my dad always managed to get little pieces of the shell in it, which i thought were nuts. so i'd ask him each time to please make the eggs without nuts, and of course he had no idea what i was talking about.

You know those Pop Rocks candy that explodes in your mouth? I thought that they were really rocks so I was scared to eat it.
I used to believe that after you ate a steamed lobster, the lobster would still be alive in the leftover body shell. I had a hissy fit in a seafood restaurant when my mother tried to throw the shell away. She had to clean it out for me in the bathroom, and I took it home and even slept with it at night!
Eventually my mom got rid of it (it started to smell), and replaced it with a lobster stuffed animal. It just wasn't the same since I knew THAT wasn't alive...
When I was 3 or 4 I believed that the seeds in a watermelon were actually raisins. At a picnic my mom started taking all the seeds out of my watermelon and I cried because I wanted the "raisins" like the other kids. I thought my mom was mean.
