When I was about 5 or 6, I used to believe that when I would put food in the microwave that a little man lived in there and that he would heat my food up. Then one day I was popping popcorn at my friends house, I asked her about the little man that lived in HER microwave. She gave me a weird look and that was when I figured out that MicroWAVES heat the food and not little men.

i used to hard-boil eggs, and keep them as my children. if one of them cracked or started to smell, i would have a funeral for it in the back yard. each egg had a name and birthday. i also had to feed them and change them. apparently, they woke me up in the nite because they were crying too.....
i was such a weird kid

When I was about ten years old my brother told me that Kix cereal were actually spider eggs. I still can't eat Kix...

One of my uncles told me that fat people got that way by swallowing watermelon seeds. So every time I swallowed one I was terrified. Another uncle (yeah, great ones I have) told me that you got fat by swallowing gum, because it would blow into a bubble in your stomach. Needless to say, I was very careful when I chewed gum.

one day i went with my father to a juice shop and i saw the sugar cane machine so i asked my father "how does the man put the sugarcane from one side and it comes out as juice from the other side" so he told me that a man was sitting inside and he ate the sugarcanes and then he peed and the pee is the juice

As a child, I had naturally wavy hair, and my sisters hair was stick straight. My mom used to tell her, "If you eat your crusts, it'll make your hair curly." But she was no fool. She ate and ate them until she finally picked up on the fact that I was throwing my crusts to our dog, and yet my hair was curly. She was pretty mad. She still brings it up even to this day.

My little sister believed onion rings were alive and wouldn't eat them until my mam had killed them by stabbing them with a fork, she also wouldn't eat any meat unless it was chicken so until she was about 11 bacon, sausages and burgers were all chicken, i don't think she liked chickens!!

I used to believe that my mother would sometimes cook and serve 'lamb snakes', being mean snakes that ate lambs, that were so mean they deserved to be cooked and eaten. I was about 8 years old when I realized they were 'lamb steaks'.

When my son was about 5 years old he asked me what "take a whiz" was. I replied that it meant doing "pipi".

The following day I prepared him a sandwhich. He asked what spread was inside. I answered "Cheese Whiz".

He looked at me and said, "I'm not eating cheese pipi", turned around and left. I couldn't stop laughing, which upset him.

He didn't eat cheese whiz for many years. To this day I don't know if he likes it.

I used to think that whenver you got mad, you would turn so red and get so hot, that if you cracked an egg on your head it would fry.

I remember when I was at school, we had an RE lesson and had to take in food that was traditionally ate by a particular religion. One week it was Islam, so we took in our food, and I went home and told my mum I wanted to be a Muslim because they ate turkish delights (someone had brought them in), and I thought the only way I could eat them was if I was Muslim! She did explain I could if I didn't!

I used to believe that cheesecake was made out of stilton.........I thought it for a very long time until some kind people told me it wasn't! I've never eaten it and don't think I ever will now!

When I was young, I heard someone from Colmans (the UK mustard maker) say on the radio that they made their money from the mustard people left on the side of the plate. For years, I thought that there was a complete network of people collecting up the leftover mustard and sending it back!

Growing up in a Chinese household, I never ate (or encountered) much cheese in my childhood.
When I got to college, I saw vats and vats of this white, creamy, curdled substance. I overheard others talking about it, and I concluded it was called "College Cheese." It wasn't until my SENIOR year in college that I realized it was "Cottage Cheese" (which still doesn't make sense to me).

I guess I'm Jessica Simpson's long-lost cousin because up until about a year ago (I'm 15 right now), I thought buffalo wings were made from buffalo. We were having lunch at a Chili's restaurant and looking at the menu. I asked my mom why they served buffalo if it was an endangered species. My mother gave me a weird look and then I pointed out the buffalo wings on the menu.
