We had a charity box at home above our television, we were constantly told in school how we had to send to give generously to all the starving children in the world. Why then was my mum so annoyed to find an array of food squashed in to the box from various meals in the week before?

When I was little, I was (and still am) a picky eater. To get me to eat soup he would say. "Lindsay, mom wants to you to take rhis medicine." He would say it was medicine because I took medicine when I was sick if it tasted good or not. So, I would end up eating soup.
We all know that most parents tell their kids that Chocolate milk comes from brown cows and white milk from white cows. Well, I wanted to know about Strawberry and my father told me that strawberry came from people! I was confused and he told me their was a group of people out there who dressed up like pink cows and that's where we got strawberry milk from! And, yes, I believed him and always watched the news, looking for the elusive 'strawberry people'. Man, I am gulliable.
When I was a kid, my family only bought the cheapest "butter" spread- Little more than colored grease i suppose.... and I beleived that "butter" was something you put on your food to make it cool down faster. It certainly didnt add any flavor! After I had real butter, I loved very hot food, so I could drench it in butter to cool it down faster.
When i was about 4 my mum and aunts told me that if i ate my crusts, my hair would grow curly. i ate them and only when i was about 8 or 9 did i actually realise that it wasnt making the slightest bit of difference because my hair was curly to begin with! i even told my friends to eat it! i was so annoyed when i finally found out...

I used to think that cantelupes were called "jump ropes" and my mom never understood me when I said "I want to eat a jump rope."
i used to believe that i was allergic to chocolate syrup because my older brother told me i was just so he could eat it all so i was afraid to eat chocolate for a long time until i asked my mom.
When I was about 4 or 5 years old I used to think pretzels were made out of wood from trees...When my father did firewood I would pick up pieces and chew on them and complain how they needed salt.

I used to think that raisins were dead flies. I only recently started to eat them again.
I was probably about 4 and we went to visit family in another part of the country. My older cousin and I went to the shop to buy milk. She took a bottle from the fridge and I just went crazy, repeating "it's the wrong kind of milk!" over and over. She refused to listen to me and I started crying. We got back and I complained because she bought the wrong milk. My mom and aunt just smiled. Because it was just from a different dairy, that's why the container and sticker looked different to me. I used to think that there were different kinds !!! (nowadays there is ofcourse :) Low fat, 2% full cream, long life etc etc :)
when i was little, me and my sister used to think that pepperami's were flying food. Whenever we ate one, we would stand on the sofa and 'fly'...i swear one time i actually did stay in the air and nobody is going to convince me otherwise!
I once swallowed a watermelon seed and freaked out afraid a watermelon would start growing. I remembered a couple days before I accidentally ate dirt and so I freaked out because I also drank some water to wash it down so I thought I just sprouted a watermelon.

If i had too many glasses of water then there wouldnt be enough in our water tower for the rest of the town!
I am a big fan of chewing gum!!!when I was 4 or 5 I used to think that we can grow & plant chewing gum so I took 2 pieces & dig a small hole in the garden & buried them & used to water my future chewing gum tree everyday till I gave up & told myself it's much better & easier to buy chewing gum than to try to grow it :-) ?!!
I used to beleive that those glasses you get with the drink names on them, u can put that drink in there and it will taste better. I still think it's true because it tastes different.
When I wuz little, and whenever they always had those commercials with Gushers, and the kids heads would turn into some fruit or whatever flavor they were eating, I seriously thought that would happen and I wuz scared to eat them cause I thought my head would turn into a lemon. Then I tried one for the first time and I wuz scared to but nothing happened.
I used to believe that the white part on the watermelon (right after the pink part) was horribly poisonous. Everytime I ate watermelon I made sure to stay away from the white part!
I believed this up until last year when I was at a birthday party and my friends said I was crazy!
My mother used to tell me if I ate cheese in bed (she caught me doing this once) that mice would chew off my ears as I was sleeping.I always pictured the abominable doctor Phibes and thought he must of fell to the same fate.
I used to believe that chewing gum stayed in your stomach for seven years. At thirteen I decided I needed to loose weight and started swallowing gum to fill up my stomach so I'd feel full all the time and wouldnt want to eat food.
When I was 5 my grandfather had a retirement party and two 10 year olds were the only kids there besides myself. There was a cooler of soft drinks outside and they told me to go get them two root beers. Not knowing that root beer wasn't really beer I snuck outside when everyone was doing their toasts to my grandpa because I was afraid of getting sent to jail. I got the root beer back to the kids and refused to talk to them cause they were "breaking the law". My parents didn't understand this when I refused to say good-bye to them at the end of the party and told them they were bad kids and needed to be punished! Everyone thought it was funny when I explained what their crime was except me!
