My parents used to tell me that I would get muscles like popeye when I ate spinach. I remember them pointing at my arms when I ate spinach saying "ohh there's one now" I kept searching for them until I was 12 before my friends pointed out how stupid that was. Why'd they do that I never said I didn't like spinach!!

When I was little I saw a show on TV about cheese and how they made it. It looked like they were just mixing water around and after awhile, it would turn to cheese. So everytime I was in the bathtub I thought I could make cheese by standing up and running around the full bathub. Everytime I did it I swore that the water was getting thicker.

I used to believe that if you didn't wash apples that you would get poisoned and die. I also thought this is why Adam was kicked out of the garden of Eden. "You know, they should have washed those apples before they ate them."

My mother said that if you swallowed a watermelon seed, a watermelon tree would grow on your head. I would try hard not to, but whenever I think I accidentally did, I constantly checked the mirror...of course, the tree never grew =(

Even when I was little,I wasn't much of a candy eater.Once I found Gummy Bears in one of my goody bags from a friend's party that I had just returned from. The "bears" were figure sized and were so cute. I took them out at once and started playing with them all on my toy town, and had them interracting with my "little people". When my dad saw me playing with them,he told me that I was playing with my food. I guess I was pretty devestated when I learned that those bears were MEANT to be eaten. Maybe that's why I never ate them afterwards, and I still don't know what became of them.

When I was little my mom told me not to eat the seeds of a watermelon cause it would grow in my stomach. Well I remember seeing a lady in the grocery store that was pregnaunt. I stared at her for awhile, then told my mom to look. She didn't know why I told her to look at this lady, until I whispered that she must have eaten a watermelon seed.

I think this stemmed from the belief that when you swallow watermelon seeds you would grow a water melon in your stomach (which of course some evil grown up told me). Somehow I applied this theory to gum, but it was obvious that it wouldn't grow in my stomach..that would just be stupid! So instead I picked a perfect spot to plant my gum. Everyday I went out to water it waiting for it to sprout. I soon moved from that place but didn't give up on my tree. Iwould beg my mom to drive by even years later to see if my gum tree had grown. I really thought I was onto something...I mean imagine how much money you would save if you grew your own gum

When I was a little one, my freinds used to say that if I swallow seeds of fruits, it will grow into a plant and then a tree, and come out bursting my skull. Even now if I swallow seeds accidentally, I think of it.

My grandpa ,and in fact my whole family, would always tell each other that only people in our family could eat watermelons & drink beer at the same time, and everyone else exploded or somehow else die a horrible death. Watermelons & beer.. what great family reunions. I was afraid for their lives, and I admired their bravery. I only hoped that one day I could eat watermelon and drink beer simultaneously without dying as well. And I can.
