I used to believe that if I swallowed watermelon seeds, I would get pregnant
When I ate watermelons, I used to swallow the seeds beacause I didnt like to spit them out. One day, I was at my brother friend's house, my brother's friend said "If you swallow the seeds again, after 5 minutes your stomache will exploed!" I was soo freaked out when I heard this I stopped eating watermelons. (not)

When i was about 7 or 8 years old, I thought that the "Lucky Numbers" at the bottom of a fortune from a fortune cookie were the winning lottery numbers. So I set up a lemonade-type stand that read, "Winning Lottery Numbers, $100" which i thought was a bargain, since you can win millions from the lottery, until my mom came out and forced me to close it because she could get arrested! LOL!
at some point when I was a kid I looked at a box of cereal and read that it had 454 "germs" instead of grams. I wouldn't eat cereal for a while after that, because I thought I'd get sick.
When I was little, my mom told me that if I swallowed gum, then a gum tree would grow in my stomache and it would make my stomache explode.
As a child I was told that If I swallowed chewing gum it would wrap around my umbilical cord and destroy any chances of me having a child. I was also told that If I did get pregnant that the baby would come out with different colors of bubble gum stuck to it's head.

When I was little I thought that pancakes were made out of penguins.
When I was 5 my mother and I were riding in the car, somehow I managed to drop my can of pop. I went to open it, and my mother quickly stopped me from doing so and explained to me that my pop would explode if I opened it. Well you can imagine what was running through my head... she then said I would just need to tap the top of the can with my finger for a little while. So some time had passed, about a half hour probably longer... and my mother looked in the back seat... I was still tapping the pop... my mom said it is fine to open it now... well at that point I burst into tears... and explained to her that I didn't want it to explode and we should just get rid of it. To this day... I will never forget the fear I experienced on that car ride, and every time I tap my pop, I remember sitting in the back seat of that car thinking I had something explosive in my hands.

when we were little me and my cousins used to eat and suck on these flowers that we found sometimes. they tasted sour thus we referred to them as 'sour flower powers'. all the adults told us they were sour because cats pissed on them. we all ate them anyways, except for my sis, because my older cousin told her that eating them would turn her into a cow.....
One christmas when I was 7, I tasted a peanut for the first time. They were very salty and I liked the taste. Within half an hour, I have munched my way through 2 bowls of peanuts and when my uncle saw me eating them about 3 hours after he had offered me my first one, he told me I'd turn into a peanut if I ate too many. I didn't touch peanuts for another 3 years when common sense finally kicked in...

I was told you had to be 16 to buy food in mcdonalds. Always remember going in there with friends when i was 12, and after being served thinking 'maybe i should try buying cigarettes now'. Its a great lie that i intend to pass on if i ever have any of my own children

At one restaurant, there were signs on the tables reading "Wednesday, All You Can Eat, Spaghetti!" My then-six-year-old daughter looked intensely at the sign, turned to me and said, "Spaghetti is not ALL you can eat!" She thought that the sign meant the only dish available on Wednesday was spaghetti!
