As a child was told jelly helped your nails grow strong.
I thought you put the jelly on the end of your fingers. Unknown to me you actully eat the jelly.
I didn't eat french fries for 10 years once because a spider fell off the ceiling, bounced off my lip and landed on my plate when I was munching on some fries. I thought the spider came out of the fries.
My mother brought cotto salami home once for lunch meat and told us it was bologna. I thought the sliced peppercorns in it (purple on the outside & green inside) was poison, and I haven't touched bologna or lunch meat since then....I was 10 and now I'm 48.
I used to get a strawberry milkshake from Dairy Queen called a "Blizzard". Only, I thought it meant blended lizard. I thought the red syrup at the bottom of the drink was the lizards blood. I enjoyed them anyway!
When we were little and wanted to eat candy first thing in the morning - especially around holidays when there were a lot more sweets in the house - my mother alwasy told us that if we ate candy before breakfast we'd get WORMS!!
I used to think that the popcorn seeds just came from a plant, i never knew it was from corn.. Until my friend told me when we where eating it one day..

I knew that if you stirred whole cream enough it would become fluffy whipped cream, so by the same logic I thought that if I shook one of those little single-serving tubs of half-and-half coffee creamer it would turn into a little tub of whipped cream. I still try it from time to time, hoping...
I used to believe that if I held a handful of peanuts, closed my fingers over them and then opened up my hand, there would be a Snickers bar in their place (chocolate bar with peanuts and caramel), because that's what happened on the television commercial. I began to realise that this wasn't possible, but for years I always tried it when I had peanuts, just in case.

My mum used to tell me that baked beans were just peas covered in tomato sauce.
My dad used to bring me a cup of earl grey tea before he went to work each morning. I always thought it was normal tea that tasted funny because my Dad had dropped some of his aftershave into it by accident. Now I know its just poncy tea!
When I was young my cousin told me (which I beleived for years of my young childhood) that skim milk was different to normal milk beacuse the farmers used to skim some skin off the cows after and add it to the milk.
My mom once told me that cookie dough is poisionis. So one time, while she was gone for a minute I ate some and I got Horrably sick. It turns out that I got salmanila poisoning from the eggs.
To this day I don't like cookie dough

when i was little i used to believe that when i opened the fridge a huge block of cheese would jump out an attack my nose because that's what giant cheese's do!
I noticed that chewing gum came in packs of 5 sticks of gum, making it hard to share gum evenly with your friends. I concluded it was part of a conspiracy to force kids to learn how to do fractions and division! This conclusion was reinforced when I observed that the big gum packs came with 17 sticks of gum!
In my early years i thought that most of the milk came from cows, but a small amount of milk was produced by the garbagetruck. I always asked my parents if the milk i was drinking were real cow-milk.
My brother, Myles Kidd, was really gullible as a kid. I told him that Tapioca was spawn of the Canadian bullfrog, and that the slightly pink processed cheese we ate was that colour because it had cows blood in it. As we were fed these foods regularly, mealtimes usually ended in tears. (He's still really gullible!)
