my parents used to tell me that if we left food on our plates it was 'a mouthful for the devil' so we were too scared to leave any in case the devil came and took it!

I used to tell my little sister that she had to eat the fortune in her fortune cookie in order for it to come true. That's why it's in a cookie!

My mom was having a party for people she worked with, I was about 9 years old. She was telling me about all of her co-workers coming over so I asked her "are we gonna have Orgies?" Well, my mom just about dropped her jaw and practically washed my mouth out with soap. "Where did you learn that word!?" she said with a rather harsh tone so now I'm practically in tears and in defense replied.. "THE LITTLE HOT DOGS WITH THE TOOTHPICKS IN 'EM MOM!"

Like most children,i used too hate vegetables, but my mum told me if i ate my carrots i would have good eyesight and be able too see in the dark.

I also heard the rumor about pop rocks and drinking pepsi. I tried it once, and I ended up having really bad gas, but at the time I thought I was dying. I also was told that if you drink orange juice after you drink the milk off of your cereal, you'll throw up. This doesn't happen either.

When I was young I didn't like regular milk and would only drink chocolate milk. My mother told me that women who breastfeed have one breast that is regular milk and one that is chocolate. I, apparently, would only drink from the chocolate side. Well occassionaly I would tell someone that. When I was about 8 my mom overheard me telling that story and asks "Didn't you know I was just kidding?" Well, now I know.

When I was a kid grown-ups always told me to drink my milk because it would make my muscles grow. I wanted big Popeye arms, so I would swallow my milk on the right side of my mouth for my right arm and the left side of my mouth for the left arm.

I used to believe that green peas were poison pellets. My Mom still made us clean our plates, luckily I had a brother and 2 sisters who helped out in the clean your plate dept. Once she stayed at the table so we couldn't swap out so I swallowed them whole figuring if they weren't smashed, no poison would leak. Unfortunately i came down w/ the flu that night, threw up all those peas. I just knew one must have broke open and poisoned me!!!!

I was told as a kid that if I ate my broccoli, a tree would start to grow on the other side of the world. And, because broccoli looks like little trees, I believed it. I still love broccoli.

The first time I had peanut brittle, I broke out in chicken pox the next day. Scientific evidence that peanut brittle causes chicken pox!

I used to believe the boy on the cracker jack box could talk cuz my mom ate mine one time when I was gone and told me she had to because it keep saying "Eat Me! Eat Me!"

My older brother wanted all the orange juice to himself, so, to keep me out of it, drew up a skull and crossbones label with "poison" written all over it, and stuck it onto the orange juice pitcher. He then warned me to stay away from the deadly stuff. It didn't work. I can still remember him holding the pitcher up out of my reach, while I jumped for it and shouted "I drinka poison!!!"

When I was very small, my brother and I used to roast marshmallows over the kitchen stove. When mine would catch fire, I used to think it was Abraham Lincoln. I would hold my fork aloft, burning marshmallow at the tip, and announce to the room, MR. PRESIDENT!!
Oddly, my brother knew which president I was talking about.

My dad would always tell us that seeds for ccoking and on buns were bugs, I always tried to look for the legs.
He would also always say"It will put hair on your chest", which was horrifying to a girl.
