When I was a kid my mom told me if you drank full strength chocolate milk it would give you worms. The only safe way to drink it was to dilute it with white milk. I'm pretty sure she was trying to save some cash!

I used to believe that if something touched mold, be it food or even a body part, that the touching party would "catch" mold too!
My Daddy used to tell me that if I ate cooked carrots, it would "put hair on my chest." I said, "Daddy, I don't want hair on my chest. I'm a girl!" To this day, I still don't like cooked carrots.

As children, my younger brother loved Glossetts Chocolate Covered Raisins. One day, on a bush picnic, my older brother and I (we were 5 years older), told our younger brother we had found a trail of Chocolate Covered Raisins. Our eager 3 year old brother ran through the forest and on the snow found a trail of ... you guessed it - rabbit feces. He quickly figured it out after his first sample. We still laugh about it to this day!

You could suffocate if you ate a bannana before you went to bed. Here's why. One night when I was about 5, I went to get the last bannana just before I went to bed. My older sister intercepted me. She told me that if you had a bannana before you went to bed, you could suffocate in your sleep. I believed her. I was also told that if I eat before I went swimming, I could die, so this made sense. I didn't eat bannanas at night for years. She ended up eating that bannana to "protect" me. The saddest thing is that she did the same thing to me a couple of months later with the last pickle.
I used to believe…
between the ages of 8-11 I was told by my uncle (who is only 3 years older than me) that the powdery stuff at the bottom of cereal boxes was rat poison. It was there so the mice and rats wouldnt get in the cereal boxes at night and eat our breakfast. For the longest time, even into adult hood after I knew better, I couldnt get myself to go any farther than 3/4 of the way into a box of cereal for fear some of the powder would get into my bowl...

When I was a small child my older brother told me that the crinkly ends of hotdogs (the "butts"), was where all the leftover meat parts went. You know, like the liver, intestines, bladder...stuff like that. To this day I can not eat the ends of hot dogs.....I'm 31 years old and it still affects me.....and I cut the ends off my children's hot dogs too!
My grandfather used to work outside in his garden and I remember once when I was about four he told me that he ate worms. I didn't believe him, so he dug up an earthworm and held his head sideways. He tilted his head back and opened his mouth and from my perspective he appeared to be lowering the worm into his mouth, and then chewing it up and swallowing it! I remember screaming and running away. It really upset me at the time!

when I was a child I had this fascination with french fries and ketsup. So much that I didn't care how you really said the words..as long as it sounded close people usually got your point right? . After walking into the door of my favorite childhood restarunt I'd happilly grabb my mom or dad and say " Daddy/Mommy....Free Fries and Cat Sh*t!!...PEEEEZ??". My Dad thought it was a riot!
