I used to think that Fruit Gushers would actually turn your head into a fruit, so I was morbidly afraid to eat them.

When my brother and I were very young my mom would make homemade speghetti sauce and can it for future use. Every jar had a bay leaf in it and she told us that if we got it on our plate we had to lick it off and make a wish. When I told my 19 year old friend to lick it off and make a wish there was a HUGE uproar of laughter at the table. Joke was on me...guess she didn't want us to choke.

When I was little I thought salt and pepper were opposites- as in, for every time someone salted something, it canceled out the pepper taste. I pictured someone saying "this is too salty!" and therefore putting more pepper on it. I was very confused for a very long time when my dad would put both on his food at the same time. It just seemed so pointless!

When I was about 8 years old, my mom sent me to the hardware store to buy some cheesecloth. That day she made cheesecake. And for the longest time I would not eat cheesecake because I believed there was cheesecloth in it.

When I was younger I used to think that if I broke food in half all the calories would fall out. I wish that was true..

I used to believe that serial killers were people that went around killing cereal. now whenever I hear that phrase, I think of a big, burly guy pointing a gun at a pile of cereal.

I used to believe that salt and pepper canceled each other out. They were opposite colors so it must work that way right?

when i was a kid i thought people bought ice-cubes from the market

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave your special powers. the orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. so i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. i wish it were true!

I used to be in awe when I saw the workers filling the soda cups through the take-out window, and I thought that the machines "knew" which size cup it was filling up, and that it knew when to stop when it was full!

My dad tricked me into eating cabbage, by telling me, if I ate it I would become big and strong! So strong infact, that I could sit on any chair, grab the bottom of the chair, and pick it up! Thus floating in the air... Still doesnt work

I convinced my boyfriend that paprika flavored crisps were made from donkeys...he was 20 at the time.

My little brother thought that grilled cheese sandwiches were "girl-ed" cheese sandwiches and would refuse to eat them. He did however eat mom's special "boy'd" cheese sandwiches with the rest of the family.

in about 1st grade, my friends convinced me that chicken patties were made with fish. since i hated (and still dislike) fish, I never ate them again! I didnt realize this till a few years later, and I felt so dumb!

My mom used to tell us that if we ate watermelon seeds that a watermelon tree would grow in our stomachs. My brother got this brilliant idea that if he swallowed quarters, he would grow a quarter tree in his stomach and be rich.
