I used to believe…

untill i was about 9 i belived white milk came from black and white cows, and chocolate milk came from brown cows. the only exeption was when you used the mix. but when you got chocolate already made from the store, it was straight from the farm where they milked the cows. it made perfect sence to me! when i was 7 i stoped beliving that pink cows existed (which would produce strawberry milk) and started to think that it was made by taking strawberrys and stoming on them (got THAT idea from a fair were i saw some girls pretending to make wine by stoming on some grapes) and then puting them in a bowl with holes in the bottom like a strainer. after that the people poured white milk over it into bottles. that made strawberry milk! i got the chocotate milk idea from my almost 8 year older sister. EVERY TIME we past cows or she saw me drink or even SAY the word "chocolate milk" she would remind me about the brown cows and how only they could make chocolate milk and how the white cows or black and white cows would make white milk. i was so stupid!!!!!!

My mother told me that I should not take food from strangers because it might be poisoned. She then had to clarify that I could eat food at my friends' parents houses, because their food would not be poisoned. So I came to the conclusion that parents of young children had some sort of special ability to know if food was poisonous and wondered why anyone ever ate anything with poison because they should just ask a parent of a small child to check.

You know those little candy dots that come on rolls of paper? When I first tried some, I was in a candy store with a mannequin of a smiling man in a suit in the corner. (I think it had coupons or something in its outstretched hand.) My dad whispered to me, "If you eat too many of those at once, you'll freeze up like that guy!" I wasn't sure if he was joking or serious, but I started feeling pretty weird right about then!

When I was very young I was with my parents on an evening visit to their friends house. I was playing with their daughter when I heard the blender. I saw what looked like an Icee and I very loudly insisted on having some. I quickly found out that looks can be deceiving. It may look the same but a daiquiri is NOT an Icee.

I used to believe that if I stuck my finger in a carbonated drink I could stop it from fizzing over the top of the glass and down the side. My uncle with a sense of humor convinced me of that one when I was a kid.

I used to think that pressing that "Diet" button in a soft drink cup somehow turned it into a diet soda.

When my son asked for a sip of wine one night, I told him "no, u have to be 21 to drink alcohol." So after that he assumed I was 21, which was great, until my next birthday, when he went around to his school and announced that I wasn't allowed to drink alcohol anymore! I didn't realize he thought you had to be EXACTLY 21, and all of his teachers thought I was an alcoholic!

I used too believe that if after you ate a bowl of ice-cream, you stirred the empty bowl very quickly with your spoon, that more ice-cream would magically appear. This was based on information given to me by my friend who was two years older than me and obviously winding me up!

When I was little, my brother told me that cauliflower was actually a kind of coral. Apparently if it wasn't heated up a lot it was still alive and would cut up and poison the inside of my mouth when I went to eat it. That night we had some salad with cauliflower in it and I ended up running out the door and hiding for hours in fear. For about a year after I wouldn't even touch cauliflower until one day I explained to my mom why and she corrected my belief.
