I thought that the pimiento inside a cocktail olive actually grew in there naturally, like a pit or a seed. I didn't know that it was a piece of a pepper that was stuffed in there in a factory. I knew that it was possible to buy olives with no pimientos, but I figured the pimientos had just been removed because some people like them and others don't.
My favourite olives today are the ones that grow with a clove of garlic in the middle. ;)

As a child, I believed that salt was used to cool stuff down (I think it was because it looked like little pieces of ice or something). One day, my older cousin came to visit. I always looked up to her and I was constantly trying to show how mature and smart I was. My mom made us eggs and I took a bite and said, "Those are way too hot!" and added salt. I did this about 5 times until I basically had more salt than eggs. Then my cousin laughed and said, "You don't put salt on stuff to make it cool down, you put it on food to make it taste better." My "cool smart" persona, not to mention my breakfast, was ruined.
I used to believe that if you ate the candy, gushers, your head would turn into the fruit that the flavour was. Once i ate one for the first time and my mom tricked me and said that my head was a watermelon. Unfortunately for me, there were no mirrors around so I could'nt see.

I used to believe that it was every vegetables destiny to be eaten so I couldn't leave a carrot on my plate or it would be sad. I couldn't eat just one pea or one broccoli piece either because they would die alone so I would eat even numbers of veggies so everyone would have a friend to go down with.

my older brother convinced me that the moon was made of cheese, and if i jumped high enough i could land on it, and the reason the moon could float in space was because it was super light, in fact, it was so light you could blow it towards the sun, melt all of the cheese, and make the BIGGEST bowl of nachos ever.
