I thought that the phrase "lactose intolerant" was "lack toastandtolerant" (Yes one big word) for the LONGEST time.

When i was about 6 i used to love weetabix. then an older friend of mine (i think she was 7-but she seemed like a grown up to me) told me that they put ants in it to make it taste nice. i have honestly never touched the stuff since (and im now 19)

I once believed that there was a man in the toaster who "bought" bread and paid for it in toast. I thought the wait was so he could inspect the bread before paying. Once, our toaster broke down and I thought the man stopped buying from us because the bread was in bad condition.

When I was in 6, I learned that a classmate at school was allergic to some food or another (peanuts, I think) but I didn't know what an allergy was. I asked and was told that "if you're allergic to something it means you can't eat that food."

Well, I HATED stewed squash, so I told everyone that I was allergic to squash because I thought that was what "allergic" meant. People were horrified when they found out that my parents made me eat my squash even though I was"allergic to it." Now I like stewed squash and eat it with no ill effects.

When I was about 4 years old, my sister told me that the mushrooms that grew in our yard in the summer were poisonous mushrooms that would kill you if you ate them. So, I always imagined someone walking down the sidewalk, taking a bite out of a mushroom, and shooting straight up into the sky to go to heaven.

I used to believe that "Old Dutch" potato chips were called "Old Ouch" because the old-style "D" looked like an "O," and words that have "tch" are pronounced the same as "ch." I never even noticed the T. I believed it until, one day in sixth grade, I was telling my mom something about them, and I said "Old Ouch" and she didn't know what I meant. She still teases me about it sometimes.

I used to (and still do) bite my nails. I also used to really hate the crust on bread - the top part that has a kind of bittery gross flavour. One day my sister and her friend were babysitting me and I refused to eat my crust. My sister's friend told me that the crust had some stuff in it that helped hair and nails grow. I believed her, of course. The crust is different from the bread so I figured they put something on it to make it crustier. I believed it until about 10th grade, when I actually stopped and thought about it, and realised it was a silly idea. I felt pretty stupid.

i beleived that if you swallowed too much gum, it would clog up your stomach and you would starve

My dad use to tell me that eating the crust will make you be able to whistle. I whole heartedly beleived this until I was in Jr, High!!!!! I still dont like the crust and I still cant whistle.

Sometimes, when you order pizza, the pizza makers put something in the middle of the pizza that sort of looks like a little table. To this day I have no idea what it's for, but when I was little, I used to believe it was a table for a dollhouse, and was included with the pizza as the meal's free toy!

When I was littlle my favorite food was Roast Beast! I would order this anytime we went to a restaurant much to the delight of my parents and the wait staff who were always laughing at me. I always imagined roast beast came from a very large purplish animal with a horn. When I finally found out it was "beef" the meal was never quite as exciting again.

When I was young, my mom told me that in order to eat chinese food, you had to use chopsticks. I didn't think this was right, but hey, if mom says it, it has to be right. I tried to learn how t use chopsticks, but I couldn't. I tried to learn every day until my fifth birthday. That night, I woke up at 10:00 to get a glass of water, and my mom was eating sweet and sour chicken with a fork. I cried for 2 hours because my mom lied to me. I never eat chinese food now or else I will break into tears. I miss chinese food, but I don't miss my mom

My mom used to use a ricer to mash potatoes. The potatoes come out in a thin stream, and I thought that you cut the stream in little pieces and that's how you got rice.
