When I was a kid, my older sister told me that Fig Newtons were filled with crushed cockroaches. That was over 30 years ago and I still can't bring myself to eat a Fig or any other type of Newton bar.

When i was about 6 my best friend told me that if you eat pink lollies you would turn into a princess, but if you eat blue lollies you would die-and for some reason i belived her. So i ate all the pink candy in her house hoping i would become royalty. So when i saw her eat one i screamed because she was lying there for 10 minutes straight pretending to be dead. As she got up i was so angry i almost punched her.

My Mom works at a pre-school. My sister and I always go with her and one day when we went, we were eating air heads. All the little kids crouded around us wanting candy. We told them that if they ate an air head then their head woud turn into a balloon. After class, there were two little twin boys, their Mom was late to pick them up so my sister gave them each an airhead candy. One of them took a bite and his brother freiked out that his head was going to blow up like a balloon and go to outer space. Then both of them started to freik out. I felt so bad. But my sister said that they can eat them because she got permission from the air head on the wrapper. I will never forget that :3

Remember those Fruit Gusher commercials? The ones where the kid popped the candy into his mouth, and his head morphed into a fruit? I used to believe that if I ate a Fruit Gusher, then my head would turn into a fruit. I was deathly afraid of those things.

My little sister used to believe that there was candy in the garbage can. This she heard from my younger brother who was 12 and she was 3. well anyways he reminded her one day at the grocery store and she actually looked through the garbage and did not find anything.

Remember Pop-eye sticks??? Well, to me they looked exactly like the sticks lollipops are on, so i used to believe that lollipop sticks were entirely edible. Well, when my mother finally told me they were simply paper, i refused to eat the candy pop-eye sticks thinking they too were just paper.

When my sister was 5 she ate candy soo much. one day when she was eating skittles from her halloween candy sack, my mom told her if she ate too much, her dentist wouldnt give her any prizes any more becuz she didnt do a good job brushing her teeth. She also told her that when she ate a couple more, she would turn into a skittle and she wouldnt be able to eat or drink. she carried this belief on for quite some time. She is now 9 years old and mom told her the truth.

Belief no. 1 involves "pacers", those green and white striped mints that were around when we were quite young - I can't remember what age. There used to be a TV-ad for them in which people ate pacers and - KAPOW - their clothes turned green and white stripey. I used to believe this was a magic property of the sweets and that if I ate one my clothes would go green and white too!

When I was small, I would never eat anything like jelly babies, animal cookies, gingerbread men or anything that was animal shaped because I used to think they had feelings and I'd hurt them if I ate or bit into them - weird I know!
