food: watermelons

My dad used to tell me that watermelons were dinosaur eggs and if i sat on them long enough they would hatch. I sat on it, and cried like a maniac when he went to cut it open.

My mom use to tell me that if you swollowed the seeds while eating a watermelon then a watermelon patch would grow in your belly. To this day I only buy seedless watermelon

When I was little I used to think if you ate watermelon seeds (or any kind of fruit) they would grow in your stomach all because my grandfather use to tell me that. I can't even eat kiwis! Lol

My sister once told me that if i ate a watermelon seed that one would grow inside my stomach.

When I was in elementary school my teacher got pregnant & told us that her belly was growing because she ate a watermelon and the seeds were growing in her belly. To this day I don't eat watermelon.

I used to believe that if I ate the black seeds in watermelon, I'd grow a watermelon in my tummy. So whenever I would get watermelon with any black seeds, I'd spit them out. However, one day I told my mom and dad about the black seeds, and how bad they were b/c you'd grow a watermelon in your stomach. My dad responded, " What? Get outa here...you wont grow a watermelon in your stomach," and everyone was laughing at me.

When we were little kids eating watermelon at my Grandma's house my Uncle John used to cut the red part out of the watermelon and eat it, leaving us the pink and white part before the rind. He said he was taking out the bad part so we would not get sick.

when i was in kindergarten i was eating watermelon and swallowed a seed. my teacher told me a watermelon would grow in my stomach and i was so terrified that i started crying and had to leave the room. to this day i make sure not to swallow watermelon seeds even though i know it's impossible for a watermelon to grow in my stomach.

I used to watch rugrats when i was a little kid, and there was an episode where a watermelon grew inside of Chuckie's stomach. Because of that, I was always afraid to eat a watermelon because i thought if i swallowed a seed, that would happen to me. I thought it was true until i was about 8.
