I used to believe that you just 'got pregnant' you didnt have to actually do anything for it to happen. I also didn't understand about relatives and thought you had to choose what you wanted to be. Eg: you could only choose to be either an aunt, a mother, a cousin, a grandmother etc.

Remember the Toys R Us Song and Peter Pan? When I was 6 they inspired me to never want to grow up. I remember believing I could will myself to stay 6 forever. I told all my family I was always going to be 6 so that I could play all the time and not have to grow up and become boring (have a job, not watch cartoons, that sort of thing).

My mom always knew what mischief I was up to, and she said it was because she "had eyes in the back of her head." At first, this sort of frightened me. I thought she really did! Finally, she said it too many times, and I went behind her chair and parted the back of her hair, looking for them. When I couldn't find them, she said that her extra eyes close whenever anyone goes looking for them and that's why I'd never see them! Well, I believed that too! It's no wonder I'm a skeptic now.

My mom and dad happened to have the same birthday (dad is one year older). I used to think, similar to the way a wife changes her last name to her husband's once they get married, that she also changed her birthday to match the husband's!

I could never understand why movie couples would be sitting at dinner and the wife would suddenly say "Honey I have a surprise for you. We're going to have a baby". After I had learned about the birds and bees, I thought surely wouldn't you REMEMBER doing something like that?"
I used to think that when you got married something would automatically happen to your body to make you have children. So I did not understand, when I saw a movie about a marooned couple with a baby on a desert island, how they could have children since they hadn't been to a church to get married.
