I used to think that when somebody got fired that they would actually be thrown out of their office and set on fire, which is why I was always worried about my friend who had told me that her dad might get fired.

My mom always told me she had eyes in the back of her head.

When I was little, I found a book called (I think) No More Secrets For Me, about a little girl whose stepfather molested her. I read it and came to the conclusion that all stepfathers molest their stepdaughters. Imagine my horror when I found out one of mommy's boyfriends was going to turn into a stepfather!

Even now, at age 20, I'm not terribly comfortable around my stepfather.

i had a younger cousin.. and when we asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up he responded "a girl". he continued this desire to be a girl for about a year, and truly believed that it was possible, just like someone becomes a fireman, he could become a girl.

when i was little i used 2 think that my mom went up 2 strangers when she was pregnant with me asking "would u like 2 b my baby's aunt?" i never realized that my aunts were my mom's sisters until I was about 8 or 9 . . .haha

When I was a little girl my dad told me that it wasn't 'air' in the bubbles of bubble wrap, but actually a very poisonous gas. He said if I continued to pop the bubbles, I would destroy the ozone layer and contaminate the oxygen in the world, thus killing the entire world population. It was only a few years ago that I realized he just hated the "popping" sounds and that it actually oxygen in the bubbles.

I used to believe that boys married boys and girls married girls, and I argued that one with my mom for quite awhile...yeah...that really explained why my mom is a woman and my dad is a man...

I used to believe…

When I was little I used to beleive that when a guy got married his name was automatically changed from the full version to the short version (such as Phillip becomes Phil) and he would have to use that version. I got this because my dad, uncle and most of the other guys in my family all used the short version of their name and I was horrified about that because I hated (and still do) the short version of my name (Matt).

About 6 years ago, i saw a commercial for mydiscountbroker.com. It had a pretty catchy song thingy so i remembered it (and hummed it upon occasion). When discussing what i wanted to be when i grew up, i mentioned to my mom the occupation of a "discount broker". My mom looked very puzzled and tried to find out from me what it was. I said "you know, like peter, a discount broker". Peter is my family's stock broker, so my mom understood, and she burst out laughing when she realized i thought that he was a "discount broker" and laughed even harder when i told her about the commercial...

I used to believe that when boys got older they turned into girls and vice versa. Using this logic all the photos of my "dad" as a kid were really of my mom. I wish i knew why i thought this.

When my little sister was 5 she used to have a crush on an older man. We told her that when she was old enough to have a boyfriend he would be too old for her. She then asked if we could put him in the refrigerator to save him for later.

When we were small my dad said that evry fouth child born in the world was chinese, and that is why there were only three children in our family .

I used to think that all bosses were mean and terrible. I remember asking my mom if her boss was nice or not. Cartoons always portray bosses as really mean, so that's what I assumed.
