I thought "born of a woman" meant that you were a little girl when you were born. So in Sunday School, I thought Jesus was a girl when he was born. I asked me grandfather and my dad if they were "born of a woman" and of course they told me yes. I lived in fear of turning into a boy.

My grandson thought all clothes were sized by age. When I was looking for a blouse, he picked out one for me , but I said it was too small, to which he replied, "How old are you then Nana". I was delighted to answer 18!
I used to believe when I was a kid, that when you turned 18, no one would be able to tell you what to do, ever-again-in-life! I couldn't WAIT to turn 18.
I'm now in my forties and I'm still being told what to do, how I should live, what I should think....... I had more fun as a kid :(

When I was little I used to believe I was adopted because there where no photos of my mom when she was pregnant with me (they didn't have a camera). My little brother was adopted when I was seven and that was confirmation of their plot to keep my own adoption a secret! I had to give up on that idea when I started to realise that I am the spitting image of my mother and I have the EXACT same hands and crooked teeth as my father.

I believed that my dad was the tallest man in the world (6'3") till at 6 years old, I met a man at a campground that topped him.

When I was a child, my father had a decorative airplane propeller that was hung on the wall. When I was very small I asked him what it was. He told me that it was the propeller for an airplane that he was building (this was made more credible by the fact that he was in the military). He said that he was collecting parts for the airplane, and when he had all the parts he needed, he would build the airplane in our garage. I was very excited that we were going to have an airplane; periodically I would ask my dad whether he was closer to building it. He would always tell me that he was still collecting parts. I believed this story for years; I think I was about 11 or 12 before it dawned on me that he was pulling my leg.
I used to believe that the reason married couples had the same last name was because you could only marry someone who had your last name. I was quite daunted by the task of not only finding someone I wanted to marry, but finding someone I wanted to marry that had my last name.
I come from a family of all girls. My older sister used to tell us that we had a brother, but he was bad and my parents kept him underneath the porch of the house. She said if we were bad or mean to her we would go there too. For the longest time I believed her, because at night you hear sounds sometimes in the house and I thought that was my brother under the porch moving around.

When I was five, I used to believe that once you got married, you automatically had kids. I once visited a married couple's house with my parents and thought it was strange that they didn't have any kids.
I'm an identical twin - I was born six minutes before my brother... which made me the older brother. I use to make him hold my hand when we crossed the street - because I was the older brother - and he listend!

Since I had an older brother growing up (and still do), I believed that all younger brothers eventually grew up to be older brothers. I believed that I would have a younger brother to pick on and torment the way my older brother did to me. Unfortunately, my parents didn't have any more children.

I used to believe that you grew up and then once you got to be a old fart you then started to grow young again. I thought that my grandmother and I would be the same age as she began to grow young again!
I was walking with my mom one day when she wasn't wearing any deoderant. I asked, "Why do you smell mommy?" And at the time we were walking passed gardeners with leaf blowers, and she told me that smell was the leaf blower exhust. So for the longest time I thought my mom was a gardener!

When I was four or five my uncle and aunt got divorced. My mom said to court to
get "unmarried." Court to me was church, so I thought that they had a bad wedding
to get "unmarried." They wore ugly clothes and there were no flowers. After the
minister explained the vows instead of saying "I do" they would say "I don't."

When I was a little kid I believed my uncle must have been half Chinese. I think this was because he has a sort of asian coloured complexion. It never occured to me that he was my uncle because he's my Dad's brother, and therefore they have the same parents (neither of whom was Chinese).
