I went to a Catholic school for elementary school. When I was about eight, we were learning about the Ten Commandments, and since they naturally glossed over the definition of "adultery," I just thought it meant looking at a man or woman who wasn't your husband or wife. That night, while my dad and I were out for dinner, he mentioned that a woman on a magazine cover looked pretty. Very loudly, I told my dad, "Daddy, thou shalt not commit adultery." The whole restaurant turned to stare at us. I don't think I've ever seen my dad so red.

When I was kid I had a crush on Robin Williams (shush). I just thought he was so cool and so funny and also could be someone to protect/help me through life (this was when he had done films like Hook and Aladdin). I really, truly, wanted to marry him, but my mom said only grown-ups could get married. So I was willing to wait until I grew up, thinking that since Robin was already a grown up, he wasn't going to get any older and so when I was 18 he was going to be exactly the same as he was in 1993.

Fffffffffffffffuuuuuuudge. :(

When i was a young, I knew someone who worked for the local sewer authority, and I used to believe that he worked in the actual sewers and I always wondered whenever I saw the man, he was never dirty. Of course since I am not a child anymore, i know that he does not crawl in the sewers

I used to believe that when I turned 6 I would turn into a boy! My brother and sister had me convinced their baby pictures were each others. I think I was more nervous the day before my 6th birthday then any other day in my life.

I used to believe that when you were a grownup you knew everything there was to know and you never had problems like kids do. I can remember being so happy when I didn't fall down and hurt myself anymore.

I was very young (about 6-8, something like that) and I thought the word when you got married was "nude-y-wed" (not newlywed). I knew how babies were really made, and I knew you had to be naked, so the word sure sounded like Nude-y to me!)

I thought Sam Hill was an actual place that lost socks, missing earrings, etc resided. My father always said "where in Sam Hill is...." I thought he was asking my mom the exact location like an address....

I used to think that my 2 girl friends and I would get married and then we'd have 2 travel campers. One camper would be for my 2 girlfriends and I to live and sleep in and the other camper would be where our husband's lived and slept. I was about 6 years old.

When I was about 5, my dad told me and my cousins that the grease that allowed the van door to slide open was whale poop and we shouldn't touch it.

I used to believe that I would marry a prince one day. My favorite movies were, of course, all of the Disney princess movies, and I took for granted that all women eventually find prince charming. One day it hit me - my dad isn't a prince! In fact, I don't even know any princes! It was a nice illusion while it lasted.

Up until I was about 7, I used to believe that my aunt was my mom because she closely resembled me. When my mom didnt buy something for me, I wanted to go her house because she bought lots of toys and clothes.

When I was six or seven I asked my little brother to marry me when we were grown ups so that we could live in a house and collect rocks together. He agreed.

I used to believe that everybody who was bigger or taller than I was always older than me.

When I was a kid, I was convinced that everyone in the world lived to be 100 years old. I even rationalized that when people were angry with me, it was "because they were upset that they only had 64 years left to live, and they were jealous that I had 95." Hmmm, must have been a parent? :)

I used to believe that when you grew up there was a magic age, that when you turned 25, you would magically know everything there was to know and life would make complete sense.

I used to believe that a honeymoon was where you literally went to the moon and picked honey with your new spouse.
