I used to believe…

My mom used to tell me people had to be 25 to get married. I believed it til I was like 16 and was wondering why some people weren't in jail.

I believed that after my parents put me and my sisters to bed in the evening they would have a big party downstairs with all their friends. This is why they wanted us to go to bed so early.

When my dad's company was laying off a lot of the employees, I was terrified that my dad would be "fired". I imagined a huge boss walking around lighting people on fire with a huge blow torch.

When I was young I thought my family were aliens conducting an experiment on me. And they were just pretending that they were my family. And they spied on me through mirrors.

I used to believe that you changed your name once you became a grown-up because no one I knew had the same name as adults I knew.

when I was 6 i used to believe that cricketers need to cut their legs and undergo some sort of surgery in oder to put on pads and due to this i dropped the idea of being a cricketer in future.

When I was about 4 I used to think that my parents would drive off to work and sit at their desks and then pull a gear-shift like lever at their desks and that was all they did for 6 hours a day.

I honestly thought that stepping on a crack in the sidewalk would hurt my mother. Step on a crack, break your mothers back. I hated her, so I would step on the cracks on purpose and wonder why it wasn't working.

When I was younger, I didn't take into account that the world was round.... So I used to wonder, "If we're the first car stopped at this stop light, then who's the very first car, in the very front of all stoplights on all the highways?" I assumed it must have been the President. THAT must have been what his job was: to lead the cars around all day.

So, I grew up with the thought of Bill Clinton sitting in a little black sedan, the first car at the very first stoplight in the world.

I used to stop myself from thinking about anything I didn't want my parents to hear when I was in a room with them because I thought they could listen in on all of my thoughts.

When i was little (like 2-3), I didn't know the names of any numbers over 10, but I knew that 11 and so on was 10 plus a number, so I would call 11 "10 dee 1" and so on. Everyone was really confused until I explained it to them. They soon set me straight.

When I was about 3, I thought my 1 year old brother was a girl because A: I couldn't see his penis, and B: I thought every family had to have at least 1 boy and 1 girl for children.

when i was young before christmas my parents would phone my grand parents claiming they were santa so that we would tell them what we wanted. i had always wondered how grandma and grandpa knew what i wanted.

My dad used to tell me he had seen every episode of Road Runner, and would prove it by telling me what would happen. Even when he messed up, he claimed he was just getting the episodes mixed up. I believed him until I was a teenager.

I use to believe that if I were to be a bank teller when I became a grown up, I would get to keep all the money people gave the bank tellers!!! LOL

When I was little my grandma convinced me there was a guy who lives in their refrigerator who crushed their ice, I would drink anything their because my mommy told me germs were icky.
