I used to believe…
When I was younger (6 or so), I used to believe that teenagers could only be girls. I had no idea what boys became, but the world "teenager" referred to a girl only.
I also believed when you became a teenager (around 14 or so) you grew long, straight blonde hair and your nails became permanently painted. Also, your face automatically got permanent makeup.
I couldn't wait to be a teenager.
I used to believe that my mom was a queen and my dad a policeman.
My dad is a musician and my mom a director....
I thought I used to be big. I'd say "When I used to be big I could tie my shoes." or "When I used to be big I could read." I really believed it in my head. Just a small attempt at control from a small child.

My parents have the same birthday. When I was little, this led me to believe that if you were going to marry someone, you HAD to have the same birthday!

when i was younger i believed in mermaids, so every night i would look up at my wishing star and say "star light star bright first star i see tonight, i wish i may i wish i might have this wish i wish tonight." then i would wish to be a mermaid. after I noticed it had not worked after a while i would cry while wishing. haha.

When I was like 6 my dad was gonna get fired from his job. When I found out I started to cry b/c I thought that they were going to throw him in the fireplace.

my parents split up when i was about 2, but i used to visit my dad during the school holidays. Between visits dad used to put all his small change in an old cookie tin so that when i came to stay i would have some pocket money. It usually amounted to about $100...I belived my dad was really, really rich!
lets hope hes got another BIG tin put away somewhere for my wedding!

When I was little I overheard a conversation about someone "losing their child", as in before it was born. But I was convinced this woman had lost her child like you lose your keys. I was appalled that she would be so careless! Also, I was a bit afraid that my mom would lose me sometime...
