When me and my friend were about 16 her little sister ( about 10) asked her how old she was. My friend told her she was 21. Her little sister told her she was lying because ' that's daddies age' Not sure how long her little sister through her father was still only 21

Until I was about 3 I believed that as I grew older my parents would grow younger and that I would look after them when they were little.

At the age of 4 & 5 I remember how very proud I was of my father who worked "graveyard" at the nearby underground mine. My impression that made me so proud was that every night he went to the graveyard and watched over and kept the dead safe. I was also somewhat concerned that something bad might happen to him because of the a scarry job he had.

My sister used to believe that my mother couldn't read.
She was obsessed with the story of "Cinderella" and wanted it read over and over again (literally. Finish and restart.)
Apparently, my mother got tired of it and told her she couldn't read. I don't know why she fell for it, as my mother had read it before. But I guess she believed it, as she couldn't either at the time.
She said that she thought my mother couldn't read until well into elementary school. What's even more funny is that she also told people at school her mother couldn't read. My mother was NOT pleased to hear this (and denies that she ever said it - but I believe it.)

i thought as a kid that grown-ups never were children. i was about three then. a few mishaps later, my relatives found it necessary to explain to me that they were once kids. i tried to visualize them as toddlers. i only got sick.

I used to think there were FOUR genders: Boys, girls, 'wrinkly boys', and 'wrinkly girls'. I was growing up with my grandmother as a third parent, but I was convinced she wasn't the same gender as me and my mom; how could a girl's skin get so wrinkly like a...a wrinkly girl's skin!?

On a similar note, I used to think height was the end-all indicator for age, so for a while I thought my dad was older than my grandmother (his mom). Years later, I actually believed that once you reached a certain age, you would shrink until you died from being old.

I Used to think that anyone older than me would die before me even if they are a week or less older.

Same thing with people younger than me

I used to think that Mum was a partually a hen because of her pointy nose, & arms that looked like drumsticks due to her getting goosebumps easily.

When I was very young I was sitting at the table with my grandmother and I asked her "Why do you and grandpa have such wrinkly faces." At the time I thought she was being serious when she calmly replied. "From yelling at kids."

When I was younger I used to visit my aunt's house very frequently. When I was about six or seven my oldest cousin then sixteen was dating this guy, I used to see them all the time. One day I ask my cousin why did her boyfriend change? she didn't understand me so I said the other day he was black. Because he was tanner I thought that he could switch races.

i used to believe that my father was a monkey from mars and that everytime i got him mad he would take me to mars and yell
"Look here! Looka t all of this non-life!"
and then bring me home by telephone.

When I was a kid, I wondered why husband and wife always had the same surname. I thought that people are stuck to having to marry someone of the same surname. And since my surname is rare, I was so scared because I thought I was stuck to having to marry my brother, 'coz I didn't like him.
