I used to believe…

When I was about 6, In this English soap opera called Eastenders there was a story line of how a girl found out her 'sister' was actually her mum. I then asked my mum if my older sister (10 years older) was my mum! haha

When I was younger I always believed that I was going to grow up to be a princess. I believed that I was going to be a princess when I got older until i was like 8. My parents ruined the whole belief when they told me that I had to marry a prince and that was the ONLY way i could become a princess.

When I was 3 in nursery school, my grandmother picked me up one day. I called her Mimi instead of Grandma. The teacher who was running carpool asked if Mimi was my Grandma, and I said no repeatedly. The teacher gave Mimi a mean look. Mimi then rolled down the window and said, "Ask her if I'm her Mimi." I screamed "Mimi! You're here!" I guess I didn't know that Mimis and Grandmas were the same thing.

In kidnergarten I used to believe that I would grow up and marry Mister Rogers. I even sent him a letter.

My mom told me that when I grew up I'd have a different family (meaning a family of my own) and I used to get really upset thinking that she meant that when I got older I was going to be given to a different set of parents and different family.

I used to think my family was really a family of bears from another planet who wore people disguises to fool me. I swore that I had to take naps during the day so they could have their secret bear meetings and take off their suits for a while. The low muffled voices through my closed bedroom door was my 'proof'.

when i was little, i was looking at photos of my brother and sister (i'm the baby) and i saw tons and tons of them but not even one of me and i ran up to my mom crying and i told her "mama, why didn't you tell me i was adopted?" and she just laughed....

I used to belive as i got older my parents would get younger and i would have to take care of them as babies until there body couldn't age as fast then they would die

I used to believe that when I got to a certain age, my older brother would 'turn small' and I would be able to be the older sibling. I believed that this cycle would last forever.

When I was little I thought my dad was the devil because when we would all eat dinner after he came home from work, he would say "I fired so and so today ha ha ha!" I thought he worked in hell and was throwing people in fire pits!

My dad used to make things out of lead when i was little and he didn't want me too touch it so he told me if i touched the lead i'd always stay a little girl and never grow up, so for years i thought if you touched lead you wouldn't become a grown up! Crule lol

i used to believe that parents do things to make there children happier. well i was wrong.

when my brother was about 4 or 5 my aunt did something that got him angry, his response was to call her a name and he called her a DOG!! she said what did u call me, he realized what he said had gotten him in trouble by her tone of voice, so he immediately changed what he said i meant PUPPY PUPPY!! I guess he thought calling her a puppy was cute lol

My mother had thick, black hair that she sometimes pulled into a braid, and sometimes left loose. When I was a kid I thought the lady on both the Sun-Maid raisin box and the Land O' Lakes box was her. Who else could it have been?

I used to believe that when an adult said they were "going to work", it meant that they would all go to the same big building where they would each turn a giant nut on a screw with a huge wrench for hours.

When I was a kid, I thought that when I became an adult I would be able to fly. I really looked forward to it and am still disappointed that it turned out to be untrue.
