I used to believe…

When I was young I thought that a after a wedding, the bride and groom took a trip to the moon and ate lots of honey there. After all, what else would a "honeymoon" be?

I used to believe…

I used to think that everyone stopped being young and became middle aged at the age of 30. Now I�m 31 and don�t look or feel any different from when I was in my 20s!

I used to believe…

When I was little, I was always puzzled about weddings. The line "til death do us part", mainly. I was under the belief that, after the wedding, the bride and groom would go separate ways and have to see each other in secret.

I was determined to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I wanted a big house with a moat, so I could live on land, but still swim. EVERY YEAR I dressed up as Ariel for halloween...and still do.

I distinctly remember as a very young child (2ish) having a very bizarre concept of life. It was a concept that death wasn't involved with: I beleived once you got old, you started getting younger again. I actually beleived that a time would come when my parents were children and I'd be an adult charged with being responsible for them. I have no clue where I got this concept and my parents did nothing to discourage it for quite some time.

As a really young little girl I used to tell people that I wanted to be a flower when I grew up. I just wasn't sure what color I wanted to be. When I was finally told that I couldn't be a flower I decided I would be Tarzan instead.

I used to believe that EVERYONE wanted to be an astronaut when they grew up. I guess I thought most adults had tried and failed, and had settled for an inferior option.

Until I was about 8 (a long time to hold this belief), I thought that men were supposed to marry women who were both younger and shorter than them. I didn't think it was a law or anything, just the socially acceptable thing to do. So I thought very poorly of my uncle who married a woman a couple years older and much taller and thought they must be social outcasts.

When I was about 4 or 5, I don't know why I thought this, but I thought that whenever I (or anyone) became a teenager that I would have to get braces and that my head would grow abnormaly large for my body, and that I would have to go through some kind of medical testing before I got a drivers liscense. I have no idea why I came to believe this.

When I was little I used to believe that to get divorced, you had to get all dressed up again, have all your family and friends present but this time walk backwards down the aisle of the church, afterall to get married you had to walk forward down the aisle....I believed this until one day I mentioned it to my mum and she explained how it really works...mind you my way sounds way better!

i used to think that husbands and wives looked the same because they were married. i would always say "you can tell their married, they look the same"

When I was around 6 years old, I used to believe
that I would always stay a child and that adults
would always stay adults and that was how it was and always would be. Looking back I call this now
my Peter Pan theory.

When I was about 5, when I was told my dad got a lift to work, I thought he went in an actual lift - I was confused how he got there like that!

When my family was at a mall or movie theatre or some other public place, my parents would often verbally express their aggravation with the "crazy teenagers" being loud or obnoxious or rude. For a long time, I thought the word "teenagers" simply meant people who were rude or just plain "bad."
