I used to believe that adults were born adults, while children would have remained children forever

I can remember blowing a dandelion and wishing out loud to grow older than my older sister. I guess my concept of time was whacked, but I thought that maybe I would lap him in age...or something.

When I was little I knew my grandparents, but I didn't know that grandparents meant my parents' parents. When my mom talked about her parents, I thought she was talking about other people I had never met.

I used to believe there are two types of grown-ups.
/ Type 1 would be the people who get married, become parents, and go to "work" (usually in an office) every day.
/ Type 2 would be those with an "actual profession" (as opposed to office workers) For example: teachers, bus drivers, firemen, etc. The main difference, however, would be that these people stayed single for their entire life, and couldn't have children.
/ In other words: Type 1 help raising people who would then decide between type 1 and 2, whereas type 2 serve the entire community.

Ok... You know when grown ups say: "You can be anything you want when you grow up" that it only means like a job? Well, my brother took it way too literally. My mom asked my 5 year old brother what he wanted to be, and he said, get this, a "Zoura" from Pokemon. She then looked at me, I was 13 at the time, and she asked what that was. I then spent an hour explaining Pokemon to my parents. And now Pokemon go is out? Oh my...

I used to believe that if you kissed a boy at a young age, that boy will be your sweetheart when you become a grown up, no matter what. I saw a little girl kiss 3 boys in a row and they all ran screaming in horror. I then wondered how someone could have 3 sweethearts and believed that until I was 9. I'm 10 now.

Still have no idea where that belief came from. I'm a strange kid.

I used to believe that my parents' names were just mom and dad, i had no idea they had real first names until i found my mom's driver license which said "Lucy" on it, and i asked my mom what that means and she said it's her first name, I didn't believe her because I thought her name was just "mom"!

I used to believe that fairy godparents were real like in the TV show fairly odd parents. I would try to act as miserable as i could so I could get fairy god parents, but it didn't work. All I got was a sore throat, and grounded for 5 days.

I was absolutely convinced that I was adopted, and that my 'parents' were not my true biological ones. One day I even hunted around my parent's bedroom, and to my dismay found my birth certificate, with their names on it! I remember being so disappointed, and seriously considered whether they had put a fake one there, to throw me off the trail!

When I was younger after my parents divorced, they used to send each other cards saying "Merry Xmas". After that , I used to believe that "Merry Xmas" was the way of saying "Merry Christmas" to an ex-partner.

When I was little my dad told me that smoke stacks were cloud makers and that's how clouds were made. I'll be telling my kids too if they every ask hahahahaha

When I was five, I was convinced when couples got married, there were three sets of parents: one for each couple and a third set of older people the couple adopted as their shared parents. I was somehow convinced that because of this, Wilford Brimley was my third grandpa, even though nobody in my family ever met him.

I was raised a catholic, therefore I believe you can only get married once, under the law of God, I kept watching actors in movies getting married multiple times with different persons. I tought they had a special licence issued by the catholic church to get married lots of times. It never occured to me that the priest was also an actor nor that there are different religions in the world.

I also remember that my parents used to tell me and my brothers if you crossed your eyes for a long time you might stay like that forever. Currently I see that my parents were not very kind when they frightened us with silly things like this.
